Episode Summaries Below
Episode 101…The Marooning
The birth of a phenomenon, "The
Marooning" is captivating but suffers from weaker editing
than the rest of the season. 16 strangers were stranded on
Borneo and divided into two tribes: Tagi and Pagong. It was a
fascinating social experiment, but most of all, it was real.
Arrogant Richard Hatch prophesized himself winning, and held
group meetings to discuss Tagi's island strategy. The endearing
but weak Sonja Christopher stumbled in the challenge, and forced
Tagi to attend the first Tribal Council, where she was ousted
4-3-1.
Episode 102…The Generation Gap
The Pagong tribe becomes annoyed with
workaholic BB, who deems the majority of the tribe to be lazy.
After completing the shelter, BB tells the tribe that he
wouldn't mind being voted off. Once Gervase lost to Stacey in a
climactic bug-eating battle, Pagong headed to their first Tribal
Council and granted BB his wish.
Episode 103…Quest for Food
After winning some fishing gear, Rich
becomes Tagi's provider, a role that he constantly oversells to
secure his safety. Over at Pagong, the food situation is much
more desperate, and the tribe is forced to turn to eating rats.
Meanwhile, Greg and Colleen's relationship heats up, with
Colleen teasing that it's "all about sex." At Tagi,
Stacey's negative attitude aggravates the majority of the tribe,
and she's voted off 5-2.
Episode 104…Too Little Too Late?
After recovering from being ill for the
first few days of the game, Ramona finally starts feeling better
and begins to do her fair share of work for the tribe. However,
her new pal Jenna feels that Ramona's efforts have come a little
too late. After Pagong loses the immunity challenge, Ramona was
easily voted off.
Episode 105…Pulling Your Own Weight
When the tribes learn that the reward
challenge is a "Choose Your Weapons" competition, Sue
expresses her desire to beat a guy on national TV tossing
spears. But her wish goes unfulfilled as Pagong's Joel wins
chickens for his tribe. Meanwhile, at Tagi, buddies Sean and
Dirk go on an unsuccessful hunt for tapioca, and the other four
Tagi members form an alliance. In the immunity challenge, Tagi's
whitewater raft guide Kelly faces off in rafting against
Pagong's Gervase, who can't swim. Despite their on-paper
advantage, Tagi loses, and the quickly thinning Dirk is voted
off.
Episode 106…Udder Revenge
Both tribes prepped for the upcoming merge,
but when it came to post-merge strategy, Pagong found themselves
in disagreement with one another: while most of the tribe hoped
to stick together, Gretchen felt that the game didn't need to be
played with alliances. Meanwhile, Gervase upset the women of the
tribe when he compares their intelligence to that of a cow's. On
thin ice as the tribe heads to Tribal Council, Gervase remarked
that while he made the comment, "Joel lives and breathes
it." The women of Pagong agree and Joel becomes the sixth
person voted out of the game.
Episode 107…The Merger
Jenna and Sean are chosen to be
representatives for their tribe; visiting the opposing tribe's
camp, then coming together to discuss the merged tribe over a
feast. They chose to utilize Tagi Beach, and the new tribe was
called Rattana. While Sean is away, the rest of Tagi solidifies
their alliance, and set up a boot order for the Pagong players.
The first individual immunity challenge is a breath-holding
competition. Greg wins, and at Tribal Council, Tagi's alliance
rears its head when a shocked Gretchen is sent home.
Episode 108…Thy Name is Duplicity
After 21 days spent missing their families,
the Survivors are treated to a brief video message from their
family members. The winner of the reward challenge would be able
to watch the full tape. All of the players got a video, except
for Jenna, who lamented over missing her children. Greg
eventually won the reward, and shared his sister's (creepy)
video with the rest of the tribe. Meanwhile, Greg used
flirtation in an attempt to play Richard, but his efforts
weren't enough, as Greg became the first member of the jury.
Episode 109…Old and New Bonds
When Colleen wins a barbeque dinner reward,
she takes Jenna along. The two of them realized that Pagong's
days on the island were numbered, and decided that they would
try to form an alliance with Gervase, Sean, and Kelly. Sean
refused to drift from his alphabetical voting strategy, and was
very vocal that his vote would be going to Jenna. Meanwhile,
Richard decided to celebrate his 39th birthday in the
nude. At Tribal Council, Kelly votes against Sean, the three
remaining Pagong members vote for Rich, but unbeknownst to Sean;
Rich, Sue, and Rudy join him in voting for Jenna, and she
becomes the ninth to leave the game.
Episode 110…Crack in the Alliance
Sue becomes upset that Kelly is trying to
play the game for herself rather than the alliance. However,
alliances are set aside for a while when the tribe receives news
that Gervase's girlfriend gave birth to a baby boy, spurring a
debate among the Tagi alliance about babies born out of wedlock.
After winning the reward challenge, Gervase gets a phone call
with his girlfriend and a slice of pizza, which he shares with
the tribe. But his luck runs out when Rich wins the immunity
challenge and Gervase's torch is snuffed.
Episode 111…Long Hard Days
As the last Pagong member remaining,
Colleen knows that time is running out. But unbeknownst to her,
the alliance is actually targeting Kelly, who they perceive as
being unfaithful. Sean won an island trivia reward challenge,
granting him a night on a yacht, a surprise visit from his
father, and breakfast with Rich the next morning, upsetting
Kelly who thought that Sean would select her. Colleen tried her
best in the immunity challenge, but Kelly pulled through,
foiling the plans of Rich, Sue, and Rudy. With Kelly safe,
Colleen was voted off.
Episode 112…Death of an Alliance
After weeks of bottling up anger, former
friends Sue and Kelly have a blow out over loyalty. Luckily for
the tribe, the fun reward challenge boosts overall morale, and
Kelly wins a trip to the "Survivor Bar" for a night of
food, drinks, and a special viewing of the first few minutes of
the first episode of Survivor. Kelly's streak continues when she
wins the reward challenge, a Blair Witch Project parody that
gave us one of the most memorable moments of any season (Rudy
answering every question with "I dunno"). Neurotic Dr.
Sean became the game's 12th casualty.
Episode 113…Season Finale
More than 50 million viewers watched as
television history was made and the first Survivor victor was
crowned. At the final four, Kelly continued her winning streak
when she won the Fallen Comrades challenge to see how much she
knew about her fellow castaways. After an initial vote resulted
in a tie between Sue and Rich, Kelly decided to change her vote,
and Sue left the game. The final challenge tested Rich, Rudy,
and Kelly's endurance. They each had one hand on the immunity
idol; the one who took their hand off last would be the winner.
Realizing that both of his opponents would take him to the final
two anyway, Rich voluntarily stepped down, and Kelly eventually
won the challenge. As Rich expected, she voted off Rudy. During
the final Tribal Council, the jury each got to ask a question or
make a comment to the final two. When it was Sue's turn, she
entered into a speech that is considered by many (including Jeff
Probst) to be the greatest Survivor moment ever. She compared
Rich and Kelly to two vermin of the island, a snake and a rat,
respectively. She concluded that the result should end up as
Mother Nature intended: for the snake to eat the rat. Sue then
cast one of four votes that made Richard the victor of the first
Survivor competition, and television was never the same again.
Episode 201…Stranded
16 new castaways were abandoned in the
Australian Outback. Divided into two teams, Kucha and Ogakor, it
didn't take long for conflict to arise on either camp. Over at
Kucha, Kimmi's loud mouth annoyed some of her tribemates, and
Michael's take-charge approach irritated Rodger, who wasn't
happy with the way Mike wanted to build shelter, while Debb's
stubborn, anti-social nature wasn't making her very many
friends. At Ogakor, Jerri and Keith had a spat over the location
of their shelter. In order to help lessen the conflict, Keith
invited Jerri to play her bongo while he attempted to make a
fire. However, neither tribe was able to make fire, and both
desperately fought in the challenge, which promised immunity and
matches. Ogakor won, and Kucha had to go to Tribal Council.
While many people were vulnerable, it was Debb who was
unanimously voted out of the tribe.
Episode 202…Suspicion
The morning after Kucha voted off Debb,
they woke up to find that Mike began cooking rice, annoying the
tribe since they hadn't all agreed on it. When the tribes got
Tree Mail, Rodger began to panic because he was a very novice
swimmer and afraid of heights. The challenge involved jumping
into the rapids, and when it was Rodger's turn, he inspired his
team by making the jump. Despite all his efforts, Kucha still
lost the reward challenge. But all was not well at Ogakor
either. When Kel was off taking a walk, Jerri told the tribe
that she thought he had been eating beef jerky. She, Tina, and
Amber searched through his bag, upsetting Maralyn. The immunity
challenge made the contestants have a taste of some Australian
delicacies (although four lucky players got either a candy bar
or an apple slice). Vegetarian Kimmi refused to eat cow brain,
setting Kucha back. But Tina was unable to keep down her tripe,
and it went into a tiebreaker where one member from each tribe
had to consume a worm. Kimmi managed to get it down before Tina,
sending Ogakor to Tribal Council, where Kel's antisocial nature
caught up with him, and he was voted off.
Episode 203…Trust No One
The strongest members of each tribe (Colby
for Ogakor and Mike for Kucha) faced off to see who could endure
carrying a heavy amount of weight on their back for a longer
period of time in the reward challenge. After all the buckets
were given to the two, they ended up holding over 400 pounds of
water on their shoulders. Mike's pole broke and the challenge
became a timed race to see which tribe could carry more water to
the opposing team's strong member. Ogakor won fishing gear, and
after they began catching fish, Keith proved how valuable a chef
could be to the tribe when everyone loved the fish he cooked. At
Kucha, two pairs begin to form: Elisabeth and Rodger, and Alicia
and Jeff. Meanwhile, at Ogakor, Jerri and Colby began to flirt;
their relationship would end up being one of the season's best
story arcs. Both tribes' older members (Rodger for Kucha and
Maralyn for Ogakor) stumbled in the immunity challenge, but
Kucha pulled through. Maralyn was the obvious target at Tribal
Council, but Keith felt she was more valuable than Mitchell. In
the end, Keith was the only one who felt that way, as everyone
else voted Maralyn off.
Episode 204…The Killing Fields
Kucha's reward challenge win gave them
three chickens and a rooster, much to Kimmi's dismay. However,
she wasn't the only one who wanted something different to eat.
When Nick alerted the tribe that a boar was on the loose, Mike
ran over and killed it, guaranteeing that Kucha would be eating
well for the next few days. At Ogakor, Jerri and Colby
strategized together on a pig hunt of their own. When Ogakor
lost the immunity challenge, Jerri felt secure that Keith would
be going home. But Colby and Tina, realizing that Keith was more
of an asset to the tribe, forced a tie against Mitchell. Keith's
vote against him in the previous Tribal Council was enough to
send Mitchell out of the game after a deadlocked tie.
Episode 205…The Gloves Come Off
Kimmi's Outback lifestyle is annoying her
tribemates even more than it was before. She becomes preachy
about her vegetarianism, and her hygiene habits could certainly
improve. It doesn't help when she and Alicia get into an
argument over how often the chickens Kucha won the previous
episode should be eaten. After Ogakor lost yet another reward
challenge, the tribe boosts its morale thanks to inspiring
speeches from Amber and Colby. They finally pull off a second
immunity win, and Kucha is sent to Tribal Council, where Kimmi
is easily voted off.
Episode 206…Trial By Fire
Both tribes were getting hungry, and
resorted to desperate measures in order to eat. Kucha began to
eat chicken feed, while at Ogakor, Jerri wanted to make fried
green tomatoes, causing another conflict with Keith. For Ogakor,
things didn't get any better at the reward challenge. One member
of each tribe (Nick for Kucha and Jerri for Ogakor) was a
caller, and their tribemates were blindfolded, attempting to
follow directions given to them by Nick and Jerri. Kucha won,
and Jerri's poor guidance upset Colby, who doused her with water
after the loss. At camp, Jerri fantasized about chocolate and
Colby. Kucha was confident that they could pull off an immunity
challenge victory and enter the merge with a 6-4 advantage. But
one morning, Mike was tending the fire, inhaled the flames, and
fell in. He was evacuated from the game, and the tribes were
forced to merge at five members each.
Episode 207…The Merge
With the Ogakor tribe still unaware of what
exactly happened to a Kucha tribe member, they got an
opportunity to get information when the women of Kucha went over
to Ogakor's camp, and the men of Ogakor headed over to Kucha.
After getting to know each other, the men and women headed over
to a new location, merging under the new tribe name, Barramundi.
In the endurance-based immunity challenge, Tina stepped down so
that Keith, her former Ogakor tribemate who had past votes,
could win immunity. At Tribal Council, with the obvious Ogakor
target immune, Kucha decided to vote for Colby, with Ogakor all
voting for Jeff, who they knew had a prior vote cast against
him. After the tie was declared deadlocked, Jeff's previous
votes sent him out of the game.
Episode 208…Friends?
With Kucha down 4 members to Ogakor's 5,
the members of Kucha hoped to swing over one or more members of
Ogakor so that they would have a shot at winning. Elisabeth
plotted with Tina about Tina's dislike of Jerri, and it appeared
that Tina might vote with Kucha to get rid of Jerri. In the
reward challenge, Jerri won a boomerang-tossing contest, and
chose to take Amber with her for a full dinner. The rest of the
tribe wasn't exactly disappointed by their loss, as getting rid
of Jerri for a while was enough of a reward. At Tribal Council,
Tina stuck with Ogakor, and Alicia became the first member of
the jury.
Episode 209…The First 24 Days: A
Closer Look
At the game's halfway point, we take a look
back at some of the most memorable moments from the first eight
episodes, with some new footage, including Jerri singing Fiona
Apple's "Criminal."
Episode 210…Honeymoon or Not?
When the Barramundi tribe receives Tree
Mail, it says that they need to divide into four pairs of one
man and one woman. Jerri immediately declares that she wants to
be with Colby. The rest of the tribe feels that's unfair, and
the women pull names out of a hat to determine the partnerships.
Jerri ends up picking Colby anyway, and they win a helicopter
trip to the Great Barrier Reef. With Nick next on the pecking
order, he desperately needed immunity. He won the challenge, and
Ogakor decided that Elisabeth would be the next target. However,
when the votes were read, only Jerri and Amber had voted for
Elisabeth. Everyone else decided it was time to get rid of
Jerri's bad attitude.
Episode 211…Let's Make a Deal
After Jerri's boot, Amber begins to feel
insecure with her Ogakor alliance. Keith is too busy singing
"Ding Dong, the Witch is Dead" to care. But much more
important was the quickly diminishing amount of rice. After an
auction that gave the Survivors some much-needed treats, and an
immunity challenge that Colby won, Jeff Probst came to camp,
offering rice in exchange for the tribe's shelter. They agreed.
At Tribal Council, Nick became the third jury member.
Episode 212…No Longer Just a Game
Colby wins a reward challenge (despite very
obviously cheating) allowing him to hang out with Australian
cowboys for a night. When the rest of the tribe returns from the
challenge, they're shocked to find that their camp has been
destroyed by a flood. At night, Keith and Tina spot the rice
can, and save it from the raging waters. Reconstruction of the
camp commences, and when Colby returns, he feels guilty over
what the rest of the tribe went through. At Tribal Council,
Ogakor (with the exception of Colby and Amber, who vote for
Rodger) decides to spare the remaining Kucha members, and Amber
is voted off.
Episode 213…Enough is Enough
The Survivors get an opportunity to talk to
their loved ones online at the reward challenge, which Tina's
family wins for her. But she's not the only one to emerge
victorious from the challenge: Keith proposes to his girlfriend,
and she accepts. Back at camp, Keith and Colby argue over rice
rations. Colby won his third immunity challenge, and considered
dropping Keith in order to keep around Rodger and Elisabeth, the
former members of Kucha who he felt were more deserving than
Keith. But Colby stuck with Ogakor, and Rodger was voted off.
Episode 214…The Final Four
The Survivors participated in their final
reward challenge, the winner of which would get a brand-new
Pontiac Aztek, and unbeknownst to them, a visit from a loved
one. Colby won, and after the tribe was weighed (losing a
combined 80 pounds since the game began), he went off to claim
his car. His mother surprised him there, and returned with him
to camp after an overnight camp-out in the Aztek. After she
left, the tribe competed in an immunity challenge, and Colby's
winning streak continued. The Ogakor majority then voted off the
last remaining member of Kucha, Elisabeth.
Episode 215…The Most Deserving
In order to pay their respects to the land
they lived on for the past 40 days, the final three created
their own idols to give to the land. After spending a few
moments reflecting on their time out there, Tina, Keith, and
Colby tossed their idols into the river. They then took time to
remember the 13 Survivors who didn't make it this far. That
prepped them up for the final three immunity challenge, which
tested how much they knew about their past tribemates. Colby
won, and shockingly chose to pick Tina, the motherly strategist,
over Keith, whom Colby would have easily beaten. The jury
decided that the sole Survivor would be Tina Wesson, the mother
and nurse from Tennessee, who got into the final two with
strategy and not physical strength.
Episode 301…Question of Trust
After the two tribes (Samburu and Boran)
were dropped off, they had to hike to camp, bringing along
whatever supplies they felt were essential. Samburu's snail pace
aggravated Frank, who yelled at the tribe to speed up.
Meanwhile, the supplies proved to be too heavy for Boran, who
decided to dump some of their water to move along faster. By
using a telescope lens, Samburu was able to make fire to boil
contaminated African water. Boran lost the first challenge when
Diane collapsed before the challenge was over. When Diane and
Clarence were alone, he opened a can of beans that they shared.
Because the tribe didn't have much food to eat, Tom was angered
at this, and berated Clarence for it. When Diane claimed that
she didn't ask Clarence to open the beans, the strong Clarence
became a vulnerable first-Tribal Council boot. But instead,
Boran decided to vote off the weakest link, Diane.
Episode 302…Who's Zooming Whom?
At Samburu, Frank barks orders at camp,
annoying the younger members. Kim J. cost the Boran tribe the
reward challenge when she fell during it. But while Kim was
weak, Jessie was feeling sick and not adapting well to the
African landscape. Plus, Boran still didn't trust Clarence.
Silas joined the four older members of Samburu in a voting bloc,
but later plotted with Lindsey. However, all their plotting
would be useless, at least for another three days. Boran lost
their second immunity challenge, in which the players had to
drink blood from a cow. With Tom still upset about Clarence
eating the beans, Clarence talked to him about Tribal Council,
and voting off the weak. Tom agreed, but in the end he still
voted for Clarence. The rest of the tribe did not, with the
exception of Jessie, who became the game's second casualty.
Episode 303…The Gods Are Angry
At Boran, two lions came very close to the
camp when most of the tribe was sleeping. Samburu was dealing
with a problem of their own: the younger members of the tribe
lazed around, while the older members did all the work. The
younger members even ate without the rest of the tribe, and
Lindsey made bead necklaces for her alliance. Boran won clean
water at Jeff Probst's favorite challenge ever, Rock 'n' Roll.
Boran also won the S.O.S. immunity challenge, sending Samburu to
their first Tribal Council. A deadlocked tie resulted in Carl
and Lindsey facing off in a trivia competition. Lindsey won, and
Carl's torch was snuffed.
Episode 304…The Young and Untrusted
When the older members of Samburu receive
Tree Mail, they wake up the younger members upon learning that
the reward challenge was in less than an hour. In an attempt to
perk up the tribe, Linda gets rowdy and tries to hug Lindsey,
who isn't too happy with this. Linda jokes about Lindsey's
mother never hugging her. At the reward challenge, Kim J.
stumbles and single-handedly loses for Boran. While hiking to
get water, Boran encounters a cape bull, the most dangerous
creature in Africa. After Boran won the immunity challenge, the
older members (especially Linda) of Samburu felt vulnerable.
Frank celebrated his 43rd birthday by carving his
family's names into his torch. The younger members tried to
convince the older members to vote for Lindsey, who already had
votes against her, in the event of a tiebreaker. They didn't
follow the order, and voted for Silas. But the younger members'
four votes for Linda were enough to send her home.
Episode 305…The Twist
The younger members of Samburu came back
from Tribal Council angry at Frank and Teresa, who didn't follow
the order to cast their votes for Lindsey. The next morning, the
tribes receive Tree Mail instructing them to send their three
best members to the original drop-off point. Boran sends Lex,
Kelly, and Tom. Samburu sends Frank, Teresa, and Silas. Little
do they know that they are about to take part in the first
Survivor twist—all six of them swapped tribes. Ethan decided
that the new Boran tribe should throw the immunity challenge and
rid themselves of a threat. They did, and the once-powerful
Silas got the boot.
Episode 306…I'd Never Do it to You
The new Samburu won a reward challenge by
answering Africa trivia questions. But more importantly, Kim J.
signaled Kelly that Lindsey and Brandon may have past votes
against them. When Samburu lost the immunity challenge, Brandon,
who did not have past votes against him, tried to convince the
former members of Boran (Kelly, Lex, and Tom) to vote for him.
However, they all voted for Lindsey, forcing a tie between her
and Tom. Lindsey's four past votes sent her home.
Episode 307…Will There Be a Feast
Tonight?
The two tribes merged into Moto Maji, and
the ten players competed in a test of endurance for immunity. It
came down to Clarence and Teresa. In a game of
rock-paper-scissors, Teresa won the first individual immunity
challenge. Meanwhile, while the rest of the tribe got to know
each other, the anti-social Frank went off by himself. Teresa
promised Clarence that she wouldn't vote for him, while Lex
straight up told Clarence that he was going. Teresa's vote ended
up going towards Lex, and Clarence voted the same way. The other
eight, however, all decided that Clarence was too much of a
threat to continue playing.
Episode 308…The First 21 Days: A
Closer Look
New footage is interspersed among
highlights from the first seven episodes of the third Survivor
installment, including Frank's deer antler battle and Tom's
blunt question to Brandon "Are you gay?"
Episode 309…Smoking Out the Snake
Ethan wins a reward challenge and brings
Lex along to an African village, where they barter two goats in
exchange for fries and candy. But back at camp, Lex is still
steaming over receiving two votes at the last Tribal Council,
promising that he will "cut the throat" of whoever
voted against him. He concluded that it was probably Kelly, and
decided to turn against her. Kelly had a plan of her own, and
joined with Samburu, to vote off Lex. However, Brandon switched
his vote, and Kelly was voted off 5-4.
Episode 310…Dinner, Movie, and a
Betrayal
The players are distracted by a massive
boil forming on Tom's neck. Meanwhile, the tribe is required to
divide into pairs for a reward challenge. Enemies Frank and
Brandon end up being a pair, and win the reward challenge, a
night at the movies. That's when plotting began at camp. Lex
hoped to vote off Frank, while Ethan and Tom didn't trust
Brandon. Lex won immunity, but at Tribal Council, he was unable
to convince his two allies to vote for Frank, and Brandon was
voted off 6-2.
Episode 311…We Are Family
The Survivors partake in an auction for
food items, and when Tom and Ethan decide to split a mystery
item, which turned out to be breakfast. Tom rejoiced that Ethan
was Jewish and couldn't have any of the bacon. Back at camp on
day 30, Frank reflected on his time in Africa, and then upset
the tribe with a rant against people who support gun control. In
an attempt to save her friend, Teresa plotted against the
likeable Ethan. When she didn't get results, she voted with the
rest of the tribe against Frank.
Episode 312…The Big Adventure
The tribe was excited when the reward
challenge allowed them a chance to watch video messages from
their loved ones. The loved ones had answered questions about
the Survivors, and the contestant who matched the most answers
with their loved one would win. Lex won and took Big Tom along
on a balloon ride. Tom revealed to Teresa that he was still
upset about Lex's "alliance" with Brandon. However,
Tom still sided with Lex at the vote, and Kim P. was voted off.
Episode 313…Truth Be Told
At Tree Mail, the final five Survivors each
received letters from their loved ones. Lex won the reward
challenge, earning not only a new car, but also the chance to
deliver a year's worth of medical supplies to a local AIDS
hospital. Back at camp, jealousy over Lex's reward made him
vulnerable at the forthcoming Tribal Council. He ended up
winning immunity. Teresa finally revealed that she was the one
who had voted for him at the first post-merge Tribal Council.
She blamed it on Tom, and revealed that Tom wanted Lex to go.
But unfortunately for T-Bird, the Boran alliance held strong,
and she was voted off.
Episode 314…The Final Four: No Regrets
Lex confronted Tom over Teresa's
allegations that Tom wanted Lex gone. Tom denied it, and the two
cooled off enough to enjoy the view from a nearby mountaintop
with the other two contestants. The final four immunity
challenge was Fallen Comrades once again. (It was eventually
revealed that Lex answered a question correctly but didn't
receive a point, meaning that the outcome of the game may have
ended up differently.) Kim J. won. Tom finally got the courage
to vote for Lex, but Ethan and Kim sided with Lex in voting off
Tom. The next day, the final three reflected on their time in
Africa, before entering the final immunity challenge. The
endurance challenge proved too difficult for Ethan and Lex, and
Kim won once again. She decided to vote off Lex, and she and
Ethan faced the jury. In a 5-2 vote, Ethan became the sole
Survivor in Survivor: Africa.
Episode
401…Back to the Beach
For the first time on Survivor, the
16 castaways are stranded without any water or food. When
Maraamu was paddling to the beach, Sarah relaxed as the others
worked. Sean claimed that it was "almost like
Cleopatra." At Rotu, Kathy began to order the tribe around,
and at Maraamu, Hunter seemed to showcase leadership qualities.
But one member of the tribe, Rob, was more interested in Sarah's
body than anything else. Peter began talking about strategy too
early in the game, and when Maraamu lost the first challenge, he
became the first boot.
Episode 402…Nacho Momma
For some much-needed comic relief, Hunter,
Rob, and Sean put on a fake radio show for Maraamu. But it
wasn't all fun and games for the tribe, as Patricia bossed the
tribe around to do work. The immunity challenge invited the
players to bob for Fafaru, a Marquesan fish delicacy. The foul
fish proved to be too much for Boston Rob to stomach, and he
lost the challenge for his tribe in a tiebreaker. Feeling
vulnerable, Rob forged an alliance with Sarah, Sean, and Vecepia,
and the four of them voted off Patricia.
Episode 403…No Pain, No Gain
At Rotu, John is stung by a sea urchin. A
remedy for this is for a person to urinate on the injury. After
Paschal was unable to deliver, Kathy rushed over and gave John
some much-needed urine. While constructing a raft for the
challenge, Robert sliced his toe on a rock. John was hurt yet
again when an eel sliced his finger. And everyone was having a
tough time dealing with the no-no bugs. Rotu won immunity yet
again, and a Godfather-influenced Boston Rob used fear to
convince three other members of his tribe to vote off the strong
Hunter.
Episode 404…The Winds Twist
When the tribes arrived for the reward
challenge, they learned that there wasn't a challenge at all.
Instead, a random tribal shuffle switched three members from
each team. Rob, Sean, and Vecepia found that their fun-loving
laidback attitudes didn't really mesh with their new tribemates,
while Kathy, Neleh, and Paschal embraced their new surroundings.
The new Rotu tribe won immunity, and Maraamu's lazy Sarah was
voted off.
Episode 405…The End of Innocence
The Maraamu tribe won its first challenge,
which gave them a chance to raid Rotu's camp for any food and
supplies they wanted. They also experienced an immunity victory
in the SOS challenge. After Gabe started to bond with the former
Maraamu members that came to Rotu, John became paranoid about
voting. Rob tried to form an alliance with Gabe, but Gabe
informed the tribe that he wasn't out there to play the game.
The attitude cost him the game when Rotu went to their first
Tribal Council.
Episode 406…The Underdogs
After Gabe's boot, Rob and Sean both feel
vulnerable if Rotu has to go to Tribal Council, and vow to win
immunity. When Neleh and Paschal learn that Gabe was booted,
they're both upset and realize that Rotu unity is no more. But
when Maraamu loses the immunity challenge, rather than keep
around sweetheart Gina over Kathy (a former member of Rotu),
they decide to vote Gina off.
Episode 407…True Lies
Maraamu finds an ancient Marquesan burial,
and soon both tribes learn that a representative must be chosen
to go to an unknown destination. Kathy went for Maraamu and Rob
went for Rotu. The two were required to come up with a name and
flag for the merged tribe. While there, the two formed an
alliance. Back at Soliantu (the new merged tribe), Rob
confronted Zoe about her plan to vote out Kathy. Realizing that
she needed immunity, Kathy gave it her all in the
balance/endurance challenge and won. At camp, Rob and Sean
confronted John about voting strategies. A new twist was
revealed at Tribal Council: the immunity winner could give
immunity to someone else. Kathy rejected the offer, and Rob was
voted off.
Episode 408…Jury's Out
With it seeming nearly inevitable that Sean
would be leaving, he, Kathy, and Vee desperately tried to get
Neleh and Paschal on their side to no avail. But then, in an
immunity challenge designed to show the pecking order, John,
Tammy, Robert, and Zoe showed Paschal and Neleh exactly where
they stood in the alliance: fifth and sixth. After ignoring the
signs for so long, Paschal was finally convinced that he needed
to change his game plan if he wanted to go much further. After
swearing that he would never align with Sean, Paschal joined
him, Vecepia, Kathy, and Neleh to break up the powerful Rotu 4
alliance, causing the greatest power shift in Survivor history.
Their five votes (as well as Zoe's) sent John out of the game.
Episode 409…Look Closer: The First 24
Days
The series' third recap episode explores
the first 24 days of Survivor: Marquesas. New footage
includes a discussion between the new alliance of five about
voting off John in the previous episode.
Episode 410…Two Peas in a Pod
Tammy confronted Zoe about which side she
was on. Zoe blatantly told her that she never liked Tammy the
entire game. Meanwhile, the reward challenge had the tribe split
into four pairs. The always-at-odds Paschal and Sean ended up
winning the challenge and embarked on a helicopter journey,
horse ride, and Marquesan feast. During this time, Sean and
Paschal learned to appreciate each other. Back at camp, a
vulnerable Zoe made jewelry for everyone. Tammy won a
stilts-walking immunity challenge, and Zoe's disloyalty to
either side cost her the game.
Episode 411…The Princess
It was Vecepia's birthday, and the tribe
celebrated with a special breakfast. (Sean later sang her
"Happy Birthday.") Despite his age, Paschal won a
strength-based reward challenge, and won a night on a cruise
ship. He had the choice of taking someone, and chose Neleh,
despite it being Vecepia's birthday, which irked Sean. When
Paschal and Neleh returned, they hadn't brought back any food
for the tribe, although Neleh offered them a mint she already
had in her mouth. Robert hoped to catch a pig and for Tammy to
win immunity, so that neither of them would be voted off.
However, Robert won immunity and Tammy became the third member
of the jury.
Episode 412…Marquesan Vacation
The reward challenge surprised the
Survivors when their loved ones showed up, and participated in a
strategy challenge. The winning loved one would spend a day at
camp with the tribe. Kathy's son Patrick won and became an
honorary member of Soliantu. When Vecepia won immunity, Robert
knew he was a goner, and he became the fourth member of the
jury.
Episode 413…A Tale of Two Cities
With the Rotu 4 all gone, there were
obviously two different pairs of two (Neleh and Paschal, and
Vecepia and Sean), with Kathy in the middle. Both sides were
trying to use her as the swing vote. When Kathy won immunity,
her vote became even more powerful. In what is perhaps the most
tense Tribal Council ever, Sean fought hard to convince Kathy to
keep him around. Unfortunately for him, Kathy stuck with Paschal
and Neleh, and Sean was voted off.
Episode 414…The Sole Survivor
With just three days to go, all the
Survivors were suffering from the intense physical conditions
they'd been put through in the past 36 days. The final four
immunity challenge tested the final four's knowledge of
Survivors already voted off. Vecepia won, and right before
voting began, Kathy made a deal with Vecepia to force a tie.
After the tie was revealed, they had two minutes to come to a
decision as to who should leave. When they couldn't, everyone
except Vecepia had to choose rocks from a bag. When he pulled
the purple rock, Paschal left the game. At the final three
challenge, Kathy fell more than four hours in, and Vecepia
struck a deal with Neleh to go to the final two. Neleh agreed,
and Kathy was voted off. But before the vote, John (a registered
nurse) revealed that Paschal had collapsed before Tribal Council
of dehydration. However, he was ok. The next night, Vecepia and
Neleh faced the jury. Tammy criticized them and called them
hypocrites. But there still had to be a winner. In a 4-3 vote,
Vecepia became the sole Survivor.
Episode 501…The Importance of Being
Eldest
When the Survivors got to the beach, the
two oldest members (Jake and Jan) got to choose teams. Jake's
tribe, Sook Jai, was a younger, athletic bunch. Jan chose an
older, wiser tribe, Chuay Gahn. When Chuay Gahn searched for
water, John played a trick on the tribe, trying to convince them
that the water source was salt water. Chuay Gahn had an early
lead in the challenge, but Ghandia choked when it came time for
the puzzle. Despite losing the challenge for the tribe, it was
John who became Survivor: Thailand's first casualty.
Episode 502…The Great Divide
Jan and Helen went to find the water
source, and while Jan was aggravating Helen, the men stayed back
and played golf. When Sook Jai won their second consecutive
immunity challenge, Tanya was voted off due to her sickness.
Episode 503…Family Values
Ted and Ghandia began to bond, but on night
6, Ted began to get too close to Ghandia, who accused him of
grinding her. When he learned of how she felt, he apologized and
said that he thought she was his wife. Sook Jai dominated the
reward challenge, until they violated the rules too many times:
in the first time the attack zone was utilized in a challenge,
Ken, Jed, and Stephanie all made contact with the opposing tribe
while not in the attack zone, while Robb did the same, only he
decided to grab Clay around the throat. Chuay Gahn won two Red
Berets for 24 hours. Meanwhile, Ghandia was still upset with
Ted, and told the women he needed to go. When Helen told Brian
this, he went to hear Ted's side of the story, and soon, Ghandia
threw a temper tantrum. When Robb and Jed lost the tribe's
fishing net, Sook Jai threw the immunity challenge, and voted
off Jed.
Episode 504…Gender Bender
The incident between Ghandia and Ted had
reached a new level; the two weren't speaking to each other.
This sparked a battle of the sexes at Chuay Gahn. When they lost
the immunity challenge, Ghandia proposed the women stick
together and force a tie. Helen considered the proposition, but
decided to vote with the men for Ghandia.
Episode 505…The Ocean's Surprise
On the morning of day 14, Ted woke up to
find that Chuay Ghan's boat (with the fishing net inside) had
floated away. Clay was quick to point fingers at Ted for the
canoe's disappearance. Later, the two tribes assembled for a
Survivor auction. Before the auction began, however, Jeff Probst
offered the contestants a chance to switch tribes. Nobody took
the offer. When Sook Jai lost the immunity challenge, Stephanie
felt vulnerable and wished she had switched tribes. That night,
she was voted out of the game.
Episode 506…The Power of One
After booting Stephanie, Sook Jai was
divided. Robb and Ken argued over loyalty. When they won a Thai
feast, they managed to put aside their differences and enjoy the
meal. After eating, Robb and Ken made up. Meanwhile, at Chuay
Gahn, Jan found a dead bat, and buried it, much to the chagrin
of her tribemates. Despite overcoming his differences with his
tribe, Robb was voted off when Sook Jai lost immunity.
Episode 507…Assumptions
The Survivors were instructed to paint
themselves five different colors, one for each tribe member. The
contestants painted the same color would get to meet and have a
conversation. They randomly chose baskets. Clay and Shii Ann
went off to Chuay Gahn Beach, while Ken and Helen went to Sook
Jai Beach. The four of them decided on which beach the ten
remaining players would live at, Chuay Gahn. Assuming the tribes
had merged, Shii Ann decided to join Chuay Gahn in voting off
Penny. When they went off to the immunity challenge, Jeff Probst
revealed that the tribes had never merged. Sook Jai lost
immunity and voted off the disloyal Shii Ann.
Episode 508…Sleeping with the Enemy
The immunity challenge tested the
Survivors' ability to breathe through snorkels underwater. The
tribe that lasted the longest cumulative time would win. It came
down to Brian and Jake, but Brian came up and won the challenge
for Chuay Gahn. An emotional Sook Jai voted out Erin.
Episode 509…Desperate Measures
The tribes went to the reward challenge,
where Jeff told them that they had finally merged. Brian won a
video from home that revealed a little too much about his
personal life, and later, Clay won immunity. Due to the late
merge, Chuay Gahn had a 5-3 advantage over Sook Jai. They used
this at Tribal Council, and got rid of Ken.
Episode 510…While the Cats are Away
Brian took Clay along on a reward of a
helicopter ride and an elephant ride. Meanwhile, Penny stayed
away from former ally Jake, fearing that it would make her more
of a target. At the immunity challenge, a correct answer of a
Thai trivia question gave players the opportunity to snuff each
others' torches. Penny immediately went and snuffed Jake's.
Helen won, and Chuay Gahn ultimately decided to vote off Penny
instead of Jake.
Episode 511…A Closer Look
A mixture of new and old footage from the
first ten episodes of Survivor: Thailand.
Episode 512…A Big Surprise…and
Another
At the reward challenge, the Survivors'
loved ones participated in a gross foods challenge. Helen's
husband won a day at camp with the tribe. When all of the loved
ones returned to be the players' partners in the immunity
challenge, Ted won immunity. Jake, the last remaining member of
Sook Jai, became the fourth member of the jury.
Episode 513…The Tides are Turning
At the reward challenge, Brian misspelled
"road trip," and Ted won a car. He took Helen with him
on a spa night. While away from the tribe, Ted proposed voting
off Clay. Helen brought up the possibility to Jan, who refused
to answer. In the end, Brian won immunity and Ted was voted off
unanimously.
Episode 514…Slip Through Your Fingers
It's down to the final four: Brian, Clay,
Helen, and Jan. After Brian won the first immunity challenge,
Helen was blindsided when the other three voted her off. Then,
in one of the most difficult final three endurance challenges in
the history of the show, Brian, Clay, and Jan held three coins
between their fingers on each hand, and stood in an
uncomfortable Thai stance. Brian won, and took Clay with him to
the final two. In a 4-3 vote, Brian became the first final
immunity challenge winner to also become the Sole Survivor.
Episode 601…Boys vs. Girls
The 90-minute premiere of Survivor's
sixth season introduced a new twist: for the first time, the
teams would be divided by gender, in a battle of the sexes. The
women were Jaburu; the men, Tambaqui. Christy surprised Jabaru
by revealing that she was deaf. Meanwhile, the men decided to
discuss which women they had crushes on. While the men expected
an easy win at the first immunity challenge, the women were the
victors, due to Ryan and Daniel's failure to complete the
balance beam part of the competition. Despite his attempts to
form an alliance to get rid of Roger, Ryan became the first
boot.
Episode 602…Storms
Both tribes had disputes between two
members. Roger and Alex had a tense fight about homosexuality,
while Joanna's peculiar behavior (believing it was sacrilegious,
she did not want the Immunity Idol at camp) caused Christy to
argue with her about Joanna's beliefs. Later, the women found a
granola bar hidden in their storage container. Fingers pointed
at Janet, who was voted off after the women lost immunity.
Episode 603…Girl Power
The reward challenge gave the Survivors an
opportunity to talk and flirt with the other team. The women won
hygiene products, and the "younger, cuter" women went
to bathe alone. When the men lost immunity again, they
unanimously decided to vote off Daniel.
Episode 604…Trapped
After the men won Coke at the reward
challenge, Shawna complained that she was physically and
mentally draining. But Jenna, Heidi, and Deena all felt that
Shawna needed to stay in the game for strategic reasons. When
the women lost immunity, Shawna received two votes, but the
majority went to Joanna.
Episode 605…Pick-Up Sticks
While chopping wood, Alex's eyebrow was hit
by a machete, to the delight of Sucksters everywhere. The
youngest players on each team (Jenna and Dave) met up for a
night out. Soon, they picked new tribes, allowing members of the
opposite sex to finally get to know one another. As soon as the
men arrived at Jabaru, Shawna was 180 degrees better than the
day before. At Tribal Council, Dave convinced Heidi to join the
three men on her team to vote off Jeanne.
Episode 606…More Than Meats the Eye
At Tambaqui, Butch enthused Christy by
telling her how inspiring she was. Meanwhile, at Jabaru, Rob
aligned himself with both Deena and Matt. The immunity challenge
forced the contestants to bite into a huge slab of meat; the
tribe that bit off the most would win. Tambaqui won, and Rob
decided to break apart Alex and Shawna's bond, and Shawna was
voted off.
Episode 607…Girls Gone Wilder
The two tribes merged, and the women hoped
to vote off the sexist Roger, who was bashed throughout the
episode by both sexes. The immunity challenge was the classic
"Perch" challenge from the second season. Jenna and
Heidi offered to strip if they could get chocolate and peanut
butter. They got their food, and stayed true to their promise.
Deena won the challenge, and the women got their wish when Roger
was ousted.
Episode 608…Sleeping with the Enemy
Matthew creeped out the tribe when he
constantly sharpened the machete. Dave won a reward of a
relaxing bath, and some dessert. He chose to take Deena along
with him, and the two discussed strategy. Rob took notice of
Dave sleeping next to Heidi at camp, and he didn't like it. At
Tribal Council, Rob managed to send away former ally Dave in a
unanimous vote.
Episode 609…The Chain
In order to prevent Matt from realizing
what was going on in the game, Rob devised a plan called
"the chain" to keep Matt busy. Alex won a trip to the
Amazon Coffee Bar, and took Jenna along with him. While they
were away, Deena told the rest of the tribe that if Matt didn't
win immunity, Alex needed to go. Before the immunity challenge,
a spider bit Heidi. When Matt won immunity, Deena's scheming
cost her the game, and she was voted off 6-2.
Episode 610…Amazon Redux
The series' fifth recap episode includes
new footage and highlights from the first nine episodes of Survivor:
The Amazon.
Episode 611…Q and A
Alex, Heidi, Jenna, and Rob have a majority
alliance, so they decide to lie around instead of working. The
Survivor auction allowed the players to bid on items of food,
and soon, a letter from home was up for bid. Christy won, and
Jenna was upset that she didn't get her letter. A second letter
from home was put up for auction, and the tribe allowed Jenna to
win it. Back at camp, Jenna felt that Christy should not have
bid on the letter, but Matt felt that Jenna was being selfish,
since Christy had bid on the letter fair and square. Soon after,
Alex told Rob that at the final four, he was going to vote Rob
off. Rob went to Matt and formed a new plan to get rid of Alex.
Rob won immunity and got Butch, Christy, and Matt on his side to
vote off a shocked Alex.
Episode 612…Sour Grapes
Jenna and Heidi attempted to get swing vote
Christy on their side. She refused to commit with either the men
or the women however. Matt won a visit from his mother at the
reward challenge, but gave it up so that the other five players
could get to see their loved ones. Jenna won immunity, but for
the first time in Survivor history, gave it to another player,
Heidi. Christy's refusal to commit to any one side cost her the
game; she became the fourth jury member.
Episode 613…The Amazon Heats Up
Butch's obsession with firewood took a bad
turn: while the tribe was away at the reward challenge, the camp
burned down. Butch, Heidi, and Jenna came back to camp to find
that everyone's personal items, except for Heidi's, had been
burned. Meanwhile, Rob and Matt were enjoying a barbeque and the
new car that Matt won. After Matt won immunity, Jenna broke
down, wanting out of the game. Heidi tried to capitalize on this
but the guys chose to vote off Heidi instead.
Episode 614…And Then There Were Four
It's down to the final four: Butch, Jenna,
Matt, and Rob. The men all agreed that Jenna would be the next
to go. However, she won the next immunity challenge, and Matt
made an agreement with her to vote off Butch that night, and
then the two of them would go to the final two. Butch's torch
was snuffed, and the next night, Jenna won immunity once again.
She honored her deal with Matt and voted off Rob. To the shock
of many viewers, Jenna claimed the million-dollar prize in a 6-1
vote over Matt.
Episode 701…Beg, Barter, Steal
The Survivors are shocked when there is a
twist right from the start: they are entering the game with the
clothes they have on their backs. After jumping overboard, the
two tribes went to a marketplace to barter for goods. This leads
to what viewers voted the greatest Survivor moment ever—Rupert
stealing shoes. When Morgan lost the first immunity challenge,
Nicole began plotting against Tijuana. Her scheming didn't work;
she was the first boot.
Episode 702…To Quit or Not to Quit
In the reward challenge, the Survivors each
had to dig up a buried treasure chest on their beach. The first
tribe that did won not only part of a map, but they got to raid
an item from the other tribe's camp. Drake won, and Sandra soon
came over to Morgan to take their tarp. Later, Shawn had taken
Rupert's spear to go fishing and lost the head. An angry Rupert
looked for it in the water, and soon found it. When Drake won
immunity, Osten asked his tribe to vote him off. He didn't get
his wish; Ryan S. was the next to go.
Episode 703…United We Stand, Divided
We…?
At Drake, Sandra and Jon got into a
shouting match, after which Jon assured himself that Sandra
would not win the game. Lill went fishing and lost Morgan's last
remaining hook. At the immunity challenge, the two strongest
members of each tribe (Rupert and Osten) faced off to see which
could hold the lightest member of each tribe (Michelle and
Darrah) the longest. Rupert won the challenge for Drake, and on
Morgan's third straight trip to Tribal Council, they voted off
Lill, whose torch didn't immediately go out in eerie
foreshadowing.
Episode 704…Pick a Castaway…Any
Castaway
Tired of some of his tribemates, Burton
proposed to Rupert that Drake throw the immunity challenge.
Rupert reluctantly agreed, and Morgan won their first immunity
challenge. After winning, a twist was revealed: they would get
to capture a member of the Drake tribe until the next immunity
challenge. They chose Rupert. At Tribal Council, Jon showed up
drunk, and a blindsided Burton became the fourth casualty of Survivor:
Pearl Islands.
Episode 705…Everyone's Hero
When Tree Mail arrived for the immunity
challenge, it was obvious that it was the gross food challenge,
and Drake made a plan. Predicting that it would come down to a
tiebreaker, Michelle would pretend to have trouble getting down
the food (which turned out to be a smoothie). When the time came
for Michelle to drink her smoothie, she didn't keep her part of
the deal, and in the tiebreaker, Sandra lost the challenge for
Drake. Because she messed up the plan, Michelle was voted off.
Episode 706…Me and My Snake
Drake's unofficial mascot, Balboa the
snake, was found dead, much to Rupert's dismay. But there was
still some animal fun at Morgan, as a pelican entered camp,
frightening Osten to the point of threatening to chop the bird's
head off. Drake won the reward, and Jon upset the Morgan tribe
when he went over and told them that Drake had thrown the fourth
immunity challenge. However, Morgan won the next immunity
challenge on their own merits, and after Trish plotted against
Rupert, she was voted off.
Episode 707…What the…? (1)
Rupert nearly strangled Jon after receiving
two votes at Tribal Council. The two made up before the
challenge, when both tribes were shocked to see that the six
players already voted off were getting another chance to play
the game. The Outcasts tribe beat both Drake and Morgan, sending
both of those tribes to Tribal Council. Drake said goodbye to
Shawn, while Osten made it easy for Morgan when he became the
first player to officially quit the game.
Episode 708…What the…? (2)
The Outcasts held their Tribal Council, and
Burton and Lill re-entered the game, both going back to their
original tribes. This didn't last long, since the tribes merged
soon after. Lill became a potential swing vote, and both former
tribes fought for her loyalty. Burton and Lill had automatic
immunity, and Burton won immunity, which he gave away to Rupert.
Lill voted with Drake, and Andrew was voted off.
Episode 709…Shocking! Simply Shocking!
Rupert won the reward challenge but gave
his reward to Burton, who took Lill with him for breakfast,
where the two plotted to get rid of Rupert. A very vulnerable
Ryan O. attempted to make alliances at the last minute, but it
was no use. He was unanimously voted off.
Episode 710…Swimming with Sharks
Jon and Burton aligned with Darrah, Lill,
and Tijuana to get rid of Rupert. However, so that he wouldn't
suspect anything, Darrah would continue to act as though she was
the one going. While Rupert became suspicious, he thought that
Lill would remain faithful to him and force a tie. He was wrong,
and became the second member of the jury.
Episode 711…The Great Lie
After Rupert was voted off, an angry Sandra
tossed out the fish he had caught. The blame was thrown at
Christa, however. At the reward challenge, the contestants got a
chance to win a visit from their loved ones. When Jon's best
friend came out, he told Jon some sad news: Jon's grandmother
had died. The rest of the tribe allowed Jon to win the challenge
and spend time with his friend to get more info. While alone at
camp, Jon congratulated his friend on a great performance—it
had all been an act to gain sympathy. He used that sympathy to
save his ally Burton from being voted off, and convinced Christa
and Sandra to vote for Tijuana, who left the game 5-2.
Episode 712…Would You Be My Brutus
Today?
The tribe was split into two teams of three
for the reward challenge. Darrah, Jon, and Lill won a spa night
and a chance to sleep in a real bed. Burton and Jon made deals
with both Darrah and Lill, and Christa and Sandra to vote off
Christa and Lill, respectively. They ended up going with Darrah
and Lill, and Christa became the fourth jury member.
Episode 713…Mutiny
Burton took Jon on a reward night in Panama
City. While enjoying their feast, the women back at camp hatched
a plan to get rid of the two guys. When Darrah won immunity for
the third consecutive time, the girls came together and ousted a
blindsided Burton for the second time.
Episode 714…Flames and Endurance
Realizing that he was the next to go, Jon
planted seeds to cause a rift between Darrah and Lill. It
worked, and both women decided to target the other. After a
twist in the final four immunity challenge allowed the jury to
keep the four remaining players from winning immunity, Darrah
was voted off in a 3-1 decision. In the last challenge, Lill
defied expectations when she outlasted both Jon and Sandra and
won the final immunity. Both Jon and Sandra felt like they were
going to be voted off. But it was Jon who was correct, as he
became the final juror. Despite many people having thought of
Lill as a definite winner if she got into the final two, she was
creamed in the final vote: by a 6-1 vote, Sandra became the Sole
Survivor of Pearl Islands.
Episode 801…They're Back!
18 players from past seasons have returned
to play the game a second time. Divided into three tribes (Chapera,
Mogo Mogo, and Saboga), they are given only a machete and map to
water. All three tribes have difficulty making fire, and at
Chapera, after Rob M. clashed with Alicia, he and Amber made an
alliance. An alliance between Rudy and Rupert was formed at
Saboga as well. The first challenge was an updated version of
Quest for Fire, from the first episode of Survivor.
Saboga lost, and Rudy and Rupert were caught in the middle:
Ethan and Tina, the past winners, tried to convince them to
stick with them, as they were more honest; while Jenna L. and
Jerri thought that the winners should be the first to go. In the
end, Rudy and Rupert decided to vote off Tina.
Episode 802…Panicked, Desperate,
Thirsty as Hell
The tribes were still having difficulty
getting fire, and when Saboga won the reward challenge, they
chose to give all three tribes a flint, pan, and clue to the
lockbox they had received earlier, which contained rice. At the
immunity challenge, Saboga was off to an early lead, but soon
found themselves heading back to Tribal Council. Feeling
vulnerable as a past winner, Ethan tried to convince Jenna L.
and Jerri to vote off the weaker Rudy. The girls went with
Ethan, and voted off Rudy, who then threatened their lives in
his final words.
Episode 803…Shark Attack
Amber began to realize her attraction for
Boston Rob when the tribes had to build a shelter in the reward
challenge. At Mogo Mogo, Rich faced off against a shark, and
won, but not before the shark took a bite in his arm. When the
tribes assembled for the immunity challenge, Jenna M. made a
tragic announcement: fearing that her mother was losing her
battle with cancer, she needed to leave the game. Eight days
after returning home, her mother passed away.
Episode 804…Wipe Out!
When it was raining heavily, Rob and Amber
snuggled, and the rest of Chapera took notice. At the reward
challenge, Chapera won a variety of bath products. But Chapera's
lucky streak finally ended when they lost the immunity
challenge. The two Robs made a pact, but it was broken at Tribal
Council, when a blindsided Rob C. was unanimously voted off.
Episode 805…I've Been Bamboozled!
For the reward challenge, the players had to build a raft. When
they got to the challenge, a twist was revealed: the tribe that
finished the challenge last would be dissolved into the other
two tribes. Saboga lost, and Mogo Mogo gained Ethan and Jerri,
while Chapera picked up Jenna L. and Rupert. At the immunity
challenge, a naked Rich rubbed against Sue. Chapera won, forcing
Mogo Mogo to attend their first Tribal Council, where Richard
Hatch, the first Survivor winner, was voted off.
Episode 806…Outraged!
Feeling as though Colby had attacked her strategy at the
previous Tribal Council, Shii Ann confronted him. Meanwhile,
over at Chapera, Sue was in a downward spiral when she couldn't
stop thinking about what Richard did to her at the past
challenge. When the tribes got to the reward challenge, Sue
unleashed a diatribe against Rich, and quit the game.
Episode 807…Sorry…I Blew It
The tribes went to the reward challenge, and learned that it was
also the immunity challenge. Chapera won immunity and a day on a
yacht. In addition, they got to pick one member from Mogo Mogo
to join them. They chose Kathy. At Mogo Mogo, the plan was to
get rid of Jerri. Lex had a different idea, and got together
with Jerri and Shii Ann to oust Colby.
Episode 808…Pick a Tribemate
Tree Mail instructed the tribes to send a
representative to the other camp. Jenna L. and Kathy were
chosen, and had to choose three items from the opposing tribe
that they could win in the reward challenge. Chapera won. Later,
Boston Rob and Amber shared a passionate kiss, and a cocky Rob
soon faced off against Rupert in fishing. When Mogo Mogo lost
immunity, Lex pulled his pal Ethan aside and told him he was
going to be voted off. Despite his attempts to stay, Ethan, the
last remaining former winner, became the eighth person to leave
the game.
Episode 809…A Closer Look (a.k.a. All
Star Redux)
The sixth recap episode of the series
explores the first eight episodes of All-Stars. Among the
new footage is a mock Tribal Council from Chapera.
Episode 810…Mad Scramble and Broken
Hearts
The tribes were shuffled, but only one
person found themselves with new tribemates: Amber. Everyone
else simply switched tribes. After the new Mogo Mogo won
immunity, Boston Rob made a plea to Lex to keep Amber around.
Back at camp, Lex told Jerri that she was going to be voted off,
but after talking about it with her, he had second thoughts. In
the end, the tribe decided to grant Rob his wish, and Jerri was
voted out.
Episode 811…Anger, Tears, and Chaos
Mogo Mogo was pleasantly surprised to see
that Amber had survived the last Tribal Council. For the first
time, the reward challenge was individual, although the players
were still in two tribes. Rupert won and took Jenna and Amber
with him. Soon, the tribes merged, and Lex wanted to ensure that
his deal with Rob was still on. After Rob and Kathy won
immunity, Rob told Lex that the deal was off. Kathy promised Lex
her immunity, but at Tribal Council, she changed her mind. Lex
became the first jury member.
Episode 812…A Thoughtful Gesture or a
Deceptive Plan?
Each player got to see a snippet of a video
his or her families made. The immunity challenge winner would
get their whole tape. Boston Rob won, but in an attempt to clear
up the bad blood around camp, he gave up his video so that
everyone could get a letter from home. Kathy and Shii Ann tried
to stir up the game, but it was no use: the former members of
Chapera all voted Kathy out.
Episode 813…Stupid People. Stupid,
Stupid People.
As the last remaining member of Mogo Mogo,
Shii Ann was feeling vulnerable. Rupert won a reward that forced
him to reveal the pecking order by allotting meals to the other
Survivors. (Shii Ann got stuck with a bowl of rice and camp
water.) Realizing that immunity was her only hope, Shii Ann
fought hard, and pulled off a win. Now, Alicia, Rob, and Rupert
were all vulnerable. But it was Alicia who found her torch
snuffed.
Episode 814…A Chapera Surprise
The Survivors' loved ones had to eat a
series of delicacies from places Survivor has visited in the
past. Big Tom's son, Bucky Bo, won, and Tom, Bucky Bo, and Rob
and his brother Mike all got a boys' night out. Shii Ann fought
hard to stay in the game, but in the end, Tom won immunity, and
she was voted off.
Episode 815…The Instigator
Boston Rob won a car in the reward
challenge, and took Amber with him on a movie date. There, she
was shocked to learn that she too had won a car. When they got
back, Rob instigated a fight between Rupert and Tom to ensure
that they wouldn't align to break up Rob and Amber. Rob won
immunity, and Tom was blindsided when he was unanimously voted
off.
Episode 816…The Sole Surviving All
Star
The final four All-Stars received breakfast
on day 37. Then, they went to a challenge, and Amber won her
first immunity challenge. Jenna was split between joining Rob
and Amber in voting off Rupert, or forcing a tie with Rupert
against Rob. She made her decision at Tribal Council, and Rupert
became the sixth member of the jury. Rob won the final immunity
challenge, and decided to bring his alliance partner from day
one, Amber, to the final two. Jenna became the final juror. The
final Tribal Council was full of bitter speeches and angry
comments from many of the jurors. In a 4-3 decision, Amber was
declared the winner of Survivor All-Stars.
Episode 901…They Came at Us with
Spears
After the 18 players watched a Vanuatu
tribal ceremony, they were divided into tribes by gender: the
women were Yasur; the men were Lopevi. Both tribes hiked to
their camps, and at Yasur, it soon became clear that the older
women and younger women weren't going to get along. At the
immunity challenge, Chris had trouble crossing the balance beam,
costing the men the challenge. But a plan was hatched to keep
Chris and the older members around, voting off the younger, more
physical members of the tribe. At Tribal Council, it was Brook
who paid the price for Chris's mistake.
Episode 902…Burly Girls, Bowheads,
Young Studs, and the Old Bunch
When the men won immunity, it was clear
that the women would be voting on age lines. Dolly committed her
vote with the older women, and then changed her mind. When Eliza
learned that Dolly was hoping to vote her off, she joined the
older crowd in taking Dolly out of the game.
Episode 903…Double Tribal, Double
Trouble
A twist befell the Survivors: both tribes
would head to Tribal Council and vote someone out. After the men
won the reward challenge, they got to compete in an individual
immunity challenge. John K. won, and went back to camp with
Yasur. He was to determine one women to give immunity to for
their Tribal Council, eventually choosing Ami simply because she
wasn't vulnerable. The men voted off John P., while Lisa
switched alliances and voted off Mia.
Episode 904…Now That's a Reward
Brady tried fishing to keep his place in
the tribe. The women won Da, a Vanuatu native, as a reward, who
showed them tricks of the trade. Rory had trouble controlling
his tribe in the immunity challenge, sending the men back to
Tribal Council, where Brady was voted off.
Episode 905…Earthquakes and Shake-Ups
A Vanuatu native came to each tribe's
beach, making them each choose a chief. Lopevi chose Sarge, and
Yasur chose Scout. Not long after, an earthquake shook up the
island. Then, the two chiefs were put in charge of coming up
with new tribes. Julie and Twila joined Lopevi, while Travis and
Rory joined Yasur. At the immunity challenge, Travis tried to
communicate with former tribemate Chris. Ami noticed, and when
Yasur lost the challenge, Travis was voted off.
Episode 906…Hog Tied
Rory confronted Yasur and asked for a fair
shot at the game. The reward challenge had the Survivors grab
pigs for a prize of steaks. Lopevi won after Eliza had trouble
catching a pig. At the immunity challenge, it was Leann who
screwed up for Yasur. When Lisa made a comment to Ami that Ami
took as a sign that Lisa might vote against her, Ami quickly
turned most of the other women against Lisa, who soon became the
seventh person voted out of the game.
Episode 907…Anger, Threats,
Tears…and Coffee
Figuring that he was the next to go, John
K. decided to laze around for his last few days on the island.
At the reward challenge, Yasur won letters from home, as well as
coffee and pastries. The immunity challenge was a slingshot
competition, and Rory dominated throughout for Yasur, earning
immunity almost single-handedly. John K. made a quick attempt to
possibly get rid of Chad, but instead, he was the one voted off.
Episode 908…Now the Battle Really
Begins
In the final tribal challenge, Lopevi won a
chocolate cake and cookies. Soon, the tribes merged into Alinta,
and the women and the men were both fighting for Julie and
Twila's votes. The men hoped to oust Ami, while the women were
looking to get rid of Rory (seen as the strongest male after
Sarge, who had won immunity). In the end, the men were shocked
when Julie and Twila went back with the women, and Rory became
the first person voted out of Alinta.
Episode 909…Gender Wars…and It's
Getting Ugly
Realizing they'd been had, the men looked
for ways to keep themselves in the game. They attempted to
convince the women to get rid of Eliza, who seemed to be next on
the chopping block after the men. At the reward challenge, Leann
won a trip and took Julie along, and the two discussed strategy.
Back at camp, the tribe was surprised to find a pig
waiting for them at Tree Mail. When Ami won immunity, it became
clear that Sarge was going to become the first member of the
jury. Realizing this, Chris decided to cast his vote against his
friend Sarge, promising that he would "burn 'em all"
afterwards.
Episode 910…Culture Shock and Violent
Storms
Two teams of four participated in the
reward challenge for a chance to visit a Vanuatu village and
partake in their rituals. Ami, Chad, Chris, and Eliza won, and
had a great time experiencing the Vanuatu culture. The other
four weren't having a great time, as they were stuck at camp in
a storm. Scout hatched a plan to save the men and get rid of
Eliza, which the other three women at camp agreed with. When the
other four returned and Ami was told of the plan, she nixed it,
and it was Chad who was voted out.
Episode 911…Surprise! And…Surprise
Again!
Chris, the last man remaining, tells the
women that Scout promised that he and Chad would stay in the
game. This especially upsets Leann, who loses faith in Scout and
Twila. At the reward challenge, the players get to chat with
loved ones through the computer. Eliza won, and her mother got
to spend a day with the Survivors. The women decided that Chris
deserved to stay more than Eliza, and planned to vote her off.
Leann finally confronted Twila about her plans to vote with Chad
and Chris at the previous Tribal Council. She denied it, and
swore her allegiance to Leann and Ami on her son's name. But
realizing that she needed Eliza to go further in the game, Twila
proposed a plan to Chris to keep Eliza around. A blindsided
Leann was voted off 4-3.
Episode 912…Now Who's in Charge Here?!
Eliza won a car in the reward challenge,
and joining her for a relaxing night out were Ami and Chris. Ami
attempted to win back Eliza's allegiance, but Chris prevented it
from happening. When Chris won immunity for the first time, the
alliance of four that formed in the last episode got together
for the second (and last) time and voted off Ami.
Episode 913…Eruptions of a Volcanic
Magnitude!
Julie won the reward challenge, and chose
Chris to join her on a trip to watch a volcano and eat hot dogs.
Back at camp, Chris was split between two pairs of women: Eliza
and Julie wanted to vote off Twila, while Scout and Twila
planned to stick with their alliance and vote off Julie. Chris
promised both pairs that he would be voting with them. At Tribal
Council, Chris was forced to make a final decision, and he ended
up voting out Julie.
Episode 914…Spirits and the Final Four
The final four immunity challenge was a
vertical maze. In a close competition, Chris came out on top.
Despite promising Eliza that he would force a tie against Twila
at the next Tribal Council, he instead wrote down Eliza's name,
and she was booted 3-1. Chris also won the final immunity
challenge, and chose Twila to sit with him in the final two,
booting Scout. At a tear-and-rage-filled final Tribal Council,
Twila was called out for lying after swearing on her son's name,
and Chris was called out as a BS-er. While Twila received two
votes, the rest went to Chris. The man who almost found himself
voted off first for losing the immunity challenge for the men
had become the Sole Survivor.
Episode 1001…This Has Never Happened
Before!
20 new players embarked on the adventure of
a lifetime, with virtually no instructions. Ian and Jolanda
managed to claim immunity necklaces that ensured their safety
until just day 2, when they were in charge of creating two
tribes with nine members each. The two players that weren't
picked on tribes, Jonathan and Wanda, were out of the game. Ian
and Jolanda then lost their immunity, and the two tribes
returned to the same beach. Ian's tribe, Koror, was older, while
Jolanda's tribe, Ulong, was younger and more physical. Ulong
lost the first immunity challenge, and Koror chose to move to a
new beach. On their way there, they lost their box of fire
supplies when their boat capsized. Feeling like an outsider,
Angie managed to find a way out of getting the boot, when she
formed an alliance to take out the domineering Jolanda.
Episode 1002…Love is in the Air, Rats
are Everywhere
After Ulong won the reward challenge, Ian
recovered the lost box of fire supplies for Koror. At Ulong, Kim
and Jeff started to get cozy, while Ashlee seemed to be giving
up. When Ulong lost the immunity challenge, Steph and Angie
hoped to break up Jeff and Kim. Bobby Jon felt that Ashlee
should go, and in the end, the tribe went with him and Ashlee
was voted off.
Episode 1003…Dangerous Creatures and
Horrible Setbacks
Right before the immunity challenge, Ulong
faced a setback when Jeff tripped on a coconut. After they lost
immunity for the third time in a row, Jeff asked to be voted
off. However, Bobby Jon felt that even with an injured ankle,
Jeff was stronger than Kim. While James joined Bobby Jon in
voting for Kim (with Bobby Jon warning her that he had no
intention to play her and Jeff's "silly-ass game"),
the other tribe members all granted Jeff his wish, and he was
voted out.
Episode 1004…Sumo at Sea
When the tribes had to pick a
representative, it became clear to Coby that he, Janu, Caryn,
and Willard were in the minority at Koror. Ian was selected for
Koror, and James was chosen for Ulong. The representatives got
to choose tools the tribe would use for the reward challenge.
Koror won, and the Survivor crew came to their camp to build
them a shelter. While Angie and Steph did well at the immunity
challenge for Ulong, Koror pulled off another win, and Kim was
finally voted off.
Episode 1005…The Best and Worst Reward
Ever
The Survivors faced a twist that sent both
of them to Tribal Council. Koror won the reward challenge,
allowing them to not only sit in on Ulong's Tribal Council, but
to eat a meal while doing so. Before going to Koror's first
Tribal Council, Gregg told Coby of his plans to align with him
and Janu at some point to oust Tom and Ian. Koror then went to
Tribal Council, and unanimously voted off Willard. Ulong then
came in, and m |
