Secret Scene: Ralph
Ralph enjoys
his time on Redemption Island with Matt and Mike.
<wide
shot of Ralph, Mike and Matt on the rocks, watching and being
in the waves>
<back at camp>
Matt: Dear Lord, thank
you so much for the day that you've blessed us with, and just
allowing us to have some time to be with ourselves, and relax,
and talk. Thank you for letting us be able to make a trip out
to the breakers and not be swept away, God. Thank you so much
for your son, and for this dinner tonight. We praise your holy
name and thank you for your mercy and grace. Amen.
<they praise Ralph for the rice he cooked them>
Ralph (solo): I'm
enjoying Redemption Island. I'm not gonna lie. I love it. The
island is awesome. I thought it was gonna be terrible.
Matt: I'm not gonna
lie, guys, I hope we can hold this crew out to the very last
thing.
Mike: That would be
great. Be very nice.
Ralph (solo): I love
the company. Matt seems like a good guy. Mike, man, you can't
ask for a better fella.
<they talk about how beautiful the sunsets are>
Ralph (solo): I thought
this was gonna be a bad place to be, but it ain't that bad.
Matter of fact, I wouldn't have minded came here earlier.
Ralph the Day After
Ralph reflects
on his time in the game, the day after he lost the duel on
Redemption Island.
"The
hardest thing I'm gonna have to face when it airs on TV - I
know people are gonna say, 'Hey man, why'd you do it this
way?' I thought I could do it this way. When you're out here
and you're in the moment, and you're hungry, and you don't
know exactly what's gonna take place next, what game's coming
up, it's hard. It shocked me."
(cut)
"When I got the opportunity to come here, I thought, you
know, I'll wear everything out (?) if there isn't a lot of
swimming involved. I still love the game, but I ain't near
what I thought I could do in some of the sports you had to do.
I still love the game, I'd love having an opportunity to try
it again. I ain't gonna say I hate it...I don't think I wanna
try it 4 or 5 times like Boston Rob. Next year or two or
three, it would be lovely to try it again. I think I might
could go further. I just don't wanna jump backwards and
forwards. I ain't been out in the world. Most of these folks
are from LA, college people. I ain't around that back home. I
didn't know hardly how to take 'em. I met some terrific
people. I met Julie, Mike, Steve, David. And..."
(cut)
"Sarita. Man, we just bonded together so close there, and
we talked. I said, 'I wanna be ya'lls friends. I have no clue
what ya'll do for a living, and I found out. I said, 'You
seem like terrific people. I know you're on the other side of
the United States from me, every one of you. I'd like to be
your friends on into death. Don't let Survivor knock us out of
being enemies. This is a game.' Bold moves, big moves, cut
each other's throats, is what it really boils down to. We got
so far in the game, we needed to stay shoulder-to-shoulder to
get us further. And that's what we did. I thank the Lord to
meet people like that. I've never had nothing to do with a
lawyer, except to have a divorce. But David is an awesome
dude."
(cut)
"I'm gonna go back home and I'm still gonna work, but I'm
not gonna work on the farm like I always did. There are more
things than just working. I'm not what you call wealthy, by no
means, but I see right now I can live off a whole lot less. If
I can wear clothes for 33 days and no underwear, that I said I
could never do without; I done without my underwear 31 of them
days, out of 32. I always thought, man, I can't go without
underwear. I found out I can. If I had to go out and do a lot
of physical work, I probably couldn't. Clothing, I'm gonna
change my whole wardrobe. I'm getting rid of the clothes I
want; if I don't wear it in a month, I'm getting rid of it. I
don't need it. I don't need it to keep cool or to keep warm in
the winter. Get rid of that crap. Give it to the needy, or
take it by the dump, and whoever wants it can have it. I found
out I don't need it. I need a whole lot less, but I don't
really wanna change that. I like to eat, but I found out my
grocery bill could be a whole lot cheaper (laughs)."
(cut)
"Survivor is a game that everyone cannot do. It is a game
a lot of people should need to try before they say, 'Hey, I
can win it.' Like Boston Rob. He's been on here 4 times and he
still may not win. It's a hard game to win. It sure made a
believer out of me. It's tough."
(cut)
"Can't figure it out. Then people at home says, Ralph,
you're gonna win that thing. No way they can outdo you. I'm
gonna have my tail tucked under. I'm gonna look bad when they
see me. They're gonna think, man, you ain't nothing but an
idiot. Well, I done all I can do. They're gonna say, you let a
little 80 pound girl beat ya. Well, that happened, by heck.
Might as well throw it up. That was a big lump to swallow.
That made me shed a tear or two. (something I didn't hear) So
far ahead and just right on by me, like I was sitting still.
Man, that's gonna be a lump to swallow. My buddies are gonna
be, you let that little girl beat you? Well, it
happened."
(cut)
"But I loved it. I loved the game. I thought there was
nothing like it. All I have to say is it's a whole lot harder
than I thought it was gonna be."
Can't Feel Sorry For Her
Ralph doesn't
feel sorry for Andrea being blind-sided by Murlonio.
"Well,
last night, we was getting up in the middle of the night, and
wondering who was gonna come in for Tribal Council. About
bedtime, it was Andrea. Andrea come in and said she was
blindsided and all that. We told her, after we was gone, it
was gonna be some of that happening. It was gonna be kicked
off one at a time. That's what happened. She was the first one
from Ometepe tribe."
(cut)
"Well, she acted a little bit like, was we mad at her,
and all that. I wasn't mad at her, and I don't think the other
guys was mad at her - Mike and Matt. She kept going and
telling us she was blindsided, like she wanted us to feel
sorry for her. We can't feel sorry for her; it's a game. She
talked and talked and talked, and we all kind of got a little
sleepy. Finally she took her a nap, and she got us this
morning, and wanted to talk about it. I got my arms open, I'm
ready to talk about it. Wanted to know what the challenge was
gonna be today. Her time's like mine, it's gettin' pretty
close, if we don't keep winning. Someone's gonna lose,
regardless."
(cut)
"I ain't got any hard feelings against her, Andrea. She
shoulda made a bold move and a big move to help her out
earlier in the game, before we was all voted off. She thought
this was never gonna happen. It's gonna happen, it's a game. I
explained to her. I said last night. Rob used you just like a
piece of toilet paper. When it was your time to come off the
roll, he wiped his hind end with you and throw you away.
That's the way it happens. That simple."
Last Zapatera Standing
Rob sees Mike as
a threat, since he is the last Zapatera on Redemption Island.
"At Redemption Island today, Ralph went home. He had a huge
lead at the first part of the puzzle, but he screwed up at the
second part. I wasn't really too surprised. That's the way it
goes. He definitely seemed emotional throughout the thing, and
you could tell the experience touched him. That's good."
(cut)
"I would have rather Ralph stayed in the game, over Mike or
Matt, but at this point, there's nothing I can do about it. My
mother always told me to worry about the things you can control,
and not the things you can't."
(cut)
"I'd rather Mike or Matty go home, because physically,
they're gonna be more of a threat to me to come back into the
game to win an individual immunity. Matt's done it time after
time after time and Mike's been in the top every time he's done
it, too."
(cut)
"Mike's the last Zapatera standing. If he makes it to the
finals, he's probably pretty much guaranteed 4 votes. It only
takes 5 to win."
It's Hot
Phillip is
taking a rare break to escape the heat.
"Just taking a moment to try to get some of this heat off
of us, myself included. We just got back from the duel at
Redemption Island, and it's so hot, I found me a spot with a
little bit of shade, where I wash my clothes, boil them. Just
gonna move real slow today."
(cut)
"For lunch, we're gonna have a little more rice. It was a
decision we had to come together with, because we only have
about 5 days worth of rice, maybe 6. We were very concerned
about whether we should make mid-day rice. But we're all feeling
a little week, so we decided to go forth with a three-quarter
cup of rice. Hopefully that will give us the juice we need to
get through today, and prepare for the evening, gathering the
firewood and stuff like that, when it cools off a little
bit."
Phillip is Immature
Natalie is
frustrated that Phillip blew up over the rice.
"Once again, Phillip's back to the old Phillip that we
basically met in the beginning. We had a discussion about rice,
me and Ashley wanted to save the rice. The boys are just like,
'We should just eat.' I know when it's down to the last couple
days, whoever's left is going to be left with nothing to eat. So
we were kind of just voicing our opinion, and both of us are a
little frustrated, because we're always overruled by the guys,
and Phillip goes along with whatever Rob and Grant want. Phillip
just, we voiced our opinion, and Phillip kind of got nasty with
us. Just saying $!@%% things that didn't even make sense, out of
anger."
(cut)
"He's very aggressive and scary. I've never really met
anybody that's like that, so when he comes after me and attacks
me and starts saying things that don't make any sense, it
freaks me out. Yesterday he got really aggressive, I said please
stay out of my face, you don't need to get so close when you're
talking to me, it makes me nervous. He jumped up - I was sitting
on the shelter - jumped up on the shelter, almost about to sit
on my lap. I got up really fast because I didn't want to
talk anymore and there's nothing left to be said. He's immature
and I don't want to have to deal with it."
(cut)
"Once you talk back to Phillip, it's a never-ending
process. He comes at us with all these things, saying we don't
need to eat, and we don't need this, and the boys are the ones
that are winning the challenges, and not us. Then he contradicts
himself. It's frustrating, because there's so much I wanna say,
and I always feel the need to defend myself. But with Phillip,
because he's so immature, he can't even sit back and listen to
my side of the story. He just cuts you off, and there's no way
of settling the dispute with him."
The Tide Has Turned
Ashley is
pleased that she won immunity and Grant is being voted out of
the game.
"I without a doubt needed that immunity today. I honestly
feel like if I had not won, I could be on the chopping block and
could be going to Redemption Island. If there was any challenge
to win, this was the one I need to win. When I won, it was still
like, did I really just win? It was awesome, but I felt like the
happiest person ever, to have that necklace around my neck.
That's the only time you can feel 100% safe. Finally tonight I
feel really good and I think we're gonna make a really big move
that's gonna change the game a lot, so I'm really excited about
Tribal Council for once."
(cut)
"The plan right now that we're hoping goes down is we're
gonna blindside Grant. It sucks, because I love Grant, he's a
great person, but strategically, to have him around, being as
strong a competitor as he is, and as likeable as he is, to the
people on the jury, if he keeps winning, it wouldn't be good. If
we have the chance we have to get rid of him. So we're gonna go
for that tonight. As far as I know, everybody's on board. I
think Grant thinks we're voting for Phillip, but we're all gonna
blindside him. It's a big move. I feel like a lot has changed,
just by winning today. I feel like the tide has turned, and if
we get rid of Grant, that's kind of Rob's right-hand person out
here. We get rid of Grant, and he has to kind of start relying
on me and Natalie a little bit more. All he's gonna have out
here is Phillip, and I'm not sure how reliable Phillip is at
this point. I kind of feel like the tide's changing, which is
really exciting."
(cut)
"We're choosing to get rid of Grant over Phillip, because
Phillip's not really a threat, and honestly, he's pissed so many
people off on the jury, as much as it's paining me not to vote
him off, it's smarter for me at this point to keep him
here."
(cut)
"To get rid of Grant, he's gonna have to go to Redemption
Island and have to face some tough competitors, against Matt,
Mike, and Andrea. Even if he does win and does come back, we're
right back where we started and we've gotta get rid of him
again. But at the same time, if we keep Grant and get rid of
Phillip, then the person that comes back from Redemption is a
strong competitor and we've gotta get rid of two people. To me,
it makes the most sense, and I don't think Rob really thought of
it until Natalie and I brought it to his attention. It's the
perfect time, and while we have a chance we've gotta take
advantage of it and get rid of a strong competitor like Grant
while we can."
We're So Hungry
Ashley admits
that Murlonio is running out of rice.
"The food situation is stressful, cause we don't have a
lot. At this point we're kind of surviving on a shell, a scoop
in the morning and a scoop at night. It's day 34 and we're
exhausted. We're literally so hungry. It's hard to find energy
to do anything. It's been really hot the last couple days, so
all you can do really is try to find shade and conserve your
energy as much as possible. Rob was talking about going to catch
fish, but you only catch one tiny fish, and you exert so much
energy, is it really worth it. We're battling a lot right now.
It's hard when you get to this point. It didn't help that we
didn't really ration as well as we could have, and the Zapatera
tribe ate their faces off while they were here, so now we're
struggling. It's not fun."
(cut)
"The starvation is getting to people, for sure. Like
yesterday, there was a huge blowup about the rice. We don't have
a lot, so Natalie and I thought we shouldn't eat 3 times a day.
When we counted the cups out, we only have enough for 2 cups a
day. We're hungry, but drink water, do something else. We can't
just keep eating or else come day 37, when there's still 2 days
left, we're gonna have no food. Phillip kind of blew up and said
we don't need the extra energy and calories like the men do and
that caused a whole big argument and so..."
(cut)
"Phillip pretty much said Grant and Rob and him are bigger
guys, and they need to eat more than Natalie and I do. He said
before I came here, he's telling me, that I consumed 1700
calories of food a day. How he knows that, I have no idea. He
consumed 3300 calories. In his mind, I don't need to be eating
as much as he does, and Grant and Rob. He's out of his mind,
pretty much. That makes no sense. We're all on even playing
ground here, we all need to eat, we're all starving. I'm hungry,
Grant's hungry, Rob's hungry, we're all hungry. It doesn't
matter whether we're male or female. We all need to eat. He's
got issues."
They're Not Playing the Game
Grant feels that
the people on Redemption Island aren't really playing the game.
"Redemption Island, the challenge, the duel, was Andrea,
Matty, Mike, and Ralph. Ralph ended up going home. He got all
the way to the end and messed up on the puzzle. He's not the
best puzzle guy and he knows it."
(cut)
"Andrea got a little emotional. She didn't expect the
blindside coming. This is the game of Survivor. She was cocky in
Tribal Council, thinking she was safe. Never a good time to say
that, especially at Tribal Council. Your ass could be going
home. Or to Redemption Island."
(cut)
"Seems to be the case at Tribal Council. If you're
overconfident in your position, it seems to be your time to go
home."
(cut)
"Based on what Jeff's saying out there on Redemption
Island, it's pretty clear - he's said it numerous times - one
person will have a chance to get back in this game. They're
gonna have a chance to wreak havoc with the rest of the people
playing this game, and they're gonna have a chance to win a
million dollars, which, like I said, leaves me to believe
they're gonna have to come through more than one challenge to
stay safe in this game. Even if one was to make it to the very
end it doesn't give them a free million dollars. They're gonna
have to win it arguing. If and when I'm sitting there, or when,
rather, I'm sitting there, I'm gonna pose a pretty damned good
argument. People on Redemption Island aren't playing the game.
They're outlasting; that's it. There's no outwit, there is an
outplay but really you're playing against people that are
already out of the game. This whole game is what we're doing
right now, over here. Matty would have been gone #2 if there had
been no Redemption Island. You're telling me he's playing a good
game? Yeah, he's doing what he can over at Redemption Island,
but also, he's not dealing with any politics over there. I don't
see any of them winning this thing or coming to the final, but
again, if they do, they're gonna have to fight, they're gonna
have to fight to win it. I'm not letting that happen."
Big Pain in My Ass
Rob is tired of
the complications caused by sending people to Redemption Island.
"The duel was pretty uneventful. Ralph blew a huge lead,
but it didn't really surprise me he did. What did surprise me
was that Redemption Island is still going on. That means we're
probably going to have to send someone else there. I'm just
wondering when it's gonna end at this point. It was once a
little pain in my ass and now it's starting to become a big pain
in my ass. I wish it'd be over already."
(cut)
"I get it, if you need a second chance, it's a good thing,
but if you're sitting where we're sitting over here, you want it
to be done with."
(cut)
"Until Jeff actually says Redemption Island's actually
gonna end, we don't know when it will. It's kind of like an
unknown quantity. You can speculate on it all you want, but at
the end of the day, until you actually know, speculation
really doesn't do you much good."
(cut)
"There's some good competition there. Matty's been there
since day 5. Mike's been strong and finished first in every
single one he's been there. Not every one, but Mike's finished
at the top of almost every one he's competed in. And you know,
Andrea, first time there, she comes out with a win. So, good
competition. At the end of the day only one of 'em's coming
back."
Despicable Behavior
Phillip is tired
of Ashley and Natalie being lazy and disrespectful.
"I found Natalie and Ashley extraordinarily lazy around the
camp. For 33 days they have basically laid around, slept close
to Rob and Grant, and that has been their lifestyle."
(cut)
"And Natalie is from a little bitty town...and she's been
coveted at home, and she has no real world experience, even
though she's a very nice girl. She's a very nice girl on her
very first camping experience. And she's playing for a million
dollars. She expects that we're supposed to hold her all the way
through and then allow her to receive the million dollars. Not
on my watch. I helped you up to a point, but when I ask you to
do something, I expect you to do something. If I try to explain
to you, since I've been carrying you all this way, I expect you
to at least give me the benefit of the doubt. She has not been
able to do that. Nor Ashley - Miss Maine, who is a pencil at
this point. A pencil. The only thing she seems to do
extraordinarily well is trim Boston Rob's beard. I'm tired
of it. I have been for a while. I can tolerate you as long as
you stay out of my way and are not argumentative with me. If you
start doing that I'm going to start calling you up on your crap
and letting you know that you don't do much around here."
(cut)
"I feel very underappreciated by those girls and I'm tired
of doing my weight and carrying them as well."
(cut)
"They don't realize that for a large part of this I have
carried them. I've been able to keep the fire so they can get
their nourishment. I gathered the wood. Today alone has been an
exhausting day. They don't say thank you for the wood, or
nothing."
(cut)
"I've made excuses for them. I've rationalized everything I
can rationalize about their despicable behavior, about how they
should try to respond to an adult who isn't trying to ill-treat
them, and has been going out of his way to help them."
(cut)
"I'm done."
Duel #10
Matt is proud of
surviving his tenth duel in a row.
"Duel #10 today. I'm very fortunate and blessed to have won
it, I believe. It was a pretty fun duel. You had a table
maze with a peg you had to move all the way through it. That was
kind of fun. Much more difficult than I thought it was gonna be.
I kind of got a slow start to it, but I smashed the tile and had
to do the jigsaw puzzle. I made pretty good progress in the
jigsaw puzzle..."
(cut)
"Then I realized I had spelled Redemption "oin"
instead of "ion" because it was a trapezoid piece.
Flipped it around, and I'm just blessed enough and humbled to
still be here."
(cut)
"I feel absolutely great right now. I'm thrilled to still
be in the game. I'm gonna make it through 28 days, I think, on
Redemption Island, which was one of my goals. I've been humbled
by God in the last few duels, because I think I've squeaked out
third place or last place multiple times. He's saying,
'I'm the one who's doing this, not you.' Today was really
humbling for me. It's God's will again, and if He wants me to go
forward, I'll go forward. I'll be so thankful then as
well."
I'll Shock Him
Phillip knows he
can beat Grant in challenges.
"I feel very certain about what's gonna happen next. I'm
gonna give it all to get immunity. I'm just waiting for that
event that shows up. I don't know what it is. I have an idea of
one that I can definitely give any man here a run for his money.
I'll tell you what it is. It's a challenge where they put sand
and you hold it over your back. If I get that challenge, you
will see Grant fail. I guarantee you. He will go down to me if
that challenge comes up. Any challenge where the majority
requires upper body, holding on, while something's pulling down
on it, I know I can, I'll shock him. He's be like that dude is
still standing there. What's the deal? He's 52. I'm 29. He's got
me on leg speed, particularly when it's repetitive. If I had to
do something like, 'OK, gentlemen, ready, set, go!' and
it's one time, I could give Grant a run for his money, right now. I
play basketball and I know what I can do. I haven't done it here
because there's always something else I have to do in sequence
to that, and I know I don't have the gas to keep going at my age
now."
I Want Back in the Game
Andrea is ready
to get off Redemption Island and back into the game.
"Back at the other camp, the sleeping arrangements were a
little different. We had a tarp, we had some nice blankets, we
could completely cuddle up with people and have blankets around
you. Here, there's actually pecking order. If you're the fourth
person in, you sleep on the ground on a board, then if you're
the third person, you sleep on the ground, a little elevated.
The two people who have been here the longest get to sleep in
the shelter, on the bamboo. That's another incentive to beat one
of the boys in a duel, so I can sleep better. (laughs) It's OK.
The board's not really that comfortable, but I have to make
do."
(cut)
"I'm glad I got to go to Redemption Island, to experience
it, but I'm also glad I didn't have to be here that long. The
days are really long. This is my first full day and already it's
like, OK, this is boring. There's only a couple of people to
talk to, and all they really want to talk about is food and how
they miss their family. It kind of makes you go, oh, I want to
think about food, I miss my family. It's cool to be here, to
experience the Redemption Island part, but it will also be kind
of nice to get back in the game."
Emotional at Duel
Andrea explains
why she was emotional at the duel.
"I had my first duel. It was against Mike, Matt, and Ralph.
It started with a table maze, where we had to take this handle,
make it through the table maze, smash a tile, grab puzzle
pieces, and complete the puzzle. I was a little emotional at the
duel. I had this huge range of emotions while being at the duel.
I was a little frazzled at the beginning. I was frustrated at
the table maze, I realized everyone was ahead of me. I was too
stubborn, I was trying to get through instead of backtracking.
It kind of started off at a really bad point. Then fortunately I
got to the puzzle part, got really focused, deep breaths, and I
ended up coming in second. I'm still at Redemption Island."
(cut)
"I got emotional when Jeff started asking me about my night
after being blindsided and coming to Redemption Island. Even
though I'm trying to be tough out here, 'Oh yeah, blindsided,'
when he says all that, it did really hurt. In 12-14 hours, I
experienced being completely blindsided, completely shocked. All
the sudden I come to Redemption Island, they're not that nice to
me. There's this weird tension, it's like everybody teaming up
against Andrea. I slept on the floor, I didn't get much sleep.
I'm going to my first duel, I'm kind of nervous, I'm a little
excited. All these emotions come up and then I'm like, yeah, I'm
a little emotional right now. Some tears came out."
(cut)
"It feels really awesome to have made it past my first
duel. I came in second. I beat Matt. I came back from being
really far behind in the table maze, to completing the puzzle,
doing well. The feeling of hitting it, was like, 'THERE.' It was
like hitting my former Ometepe tribe. It felt awesome."
(cut)
"It makes me even more pumped up. I'm still in this game.
If I can get back in the game as an underdog, I have an even
better chance of winning."
Ponderosa Ralph Part 1
Ralph loses the
Redemption Island duel and is sent to Ponderosa, becoming the
fourth member of the jury this season
<Ralph
walks off>
Ralph (solo): Glad I made
it this far. 33 days. I can't wait to eat. I'm starved. The
hunger really made me do a lot of thinking about what am I doing
out here starving. I am a great eater. I love eating. Eating and
working. (something else I can't hear)
Ralph (another
interview): I had a chance at a million dollars, and I lost it
on a puzzle.
Ralph (in the car): Man,
oh man. Can't believe I'm out of the game. So far ahead. I
missed home. Never been away from home this long in my life.
(sees a tomato truck in front of the car) Fried tomatoes, man!
This is unreal. Seeing this, something I've never seen before.
(sees some kids on the sidewalk rolling tires) Look at those
kids. Beautiful. This is amazing the heck out of me.
(David/Steve/Julie waiting)
David: I can't tell.
Looks like a hairy guy.
Julie: Looks like a hairy
guy!
<they greet him happily, as he tells them he lost because of
a puzzle; Julie marvels at his beard>
Ralph
(solo): I came to Ponderosa, and they welcomed me with open
arms.
Steve: Now it's time for
a huge (?) lunch. Dude, you fought like a warrior. (shakes
Ralph's hand)
<Ralph learns he lost 24 pounds, same as Julie; he looks at
his beard and then eats a lot of food before going to his
room>
Ralph: I guess this is
the closest thing to being a millionaire, winning the million.
Next step down. I'm going to accept this and enjoy the rest of
my days here.
<Ralph brushes his teeth, then goes to talk to David as David
makes drinks>
Ralph: I'm glad I'm here,
but I miss the game.
David: I didn't view it
as I lost. I gained a lot, including a very good friendship that
will last. If there's a way to lose something and lose
gracefully, I think we both did it.
<Julie, Ralph, and Steve watch the sun set>
Ralph (solo): Life at
Ponderosa is beautiful. I'm going to enjoy it while I'm here.
Then I'm gonna get ready to go home.
Ponderosa Ralph Part 2
The jury members
go boating and fishing at Morgan's Rock
<Steve
and Julie get treemail>
Steve: Take a tour on a
boat at Morgan's Rock.
Julie: What? Alright!
Steve: Sweet.
<they get David and Ralph and they all take a trip to the
beach>
David (taking a photo):
Looks like it's gonna be fun.
<they get in a small boat>
Ralph (solo): Got on to
the little boat and got on the big boat.
Ralph: I love it. First
time I ever got to do anything like this, and it's awesome.
<Julie and Ralph sit at the front of the boat>
Ralph: This is like being
drunk.
Julie: I wouldn't know,
I've never been drunk. (laughs)
Julie: Ralph, you're so
lucky.
Julie
(solo): First time he's ever been on the ocean. I was hoping he
wouldn't get sick and would enjoy it.
Ralph: This is awesome.
<Steve joins them and they fist bump; later, David has joined
them and they're fishing>
Ralph (solo): David
caught one in about 18-20 minutes. Took a good while.
<Ralph, Steve, and Julie each catch a fish>
David (solo): It was
great. I caught the biggest fish. I won; everybody else lost.
<Steve, Julie, and Ralph look at the view>
Ralph (solo): I enjoyed
the view of the water and the hillside and the beaches.
<everyone goes diving into the water>
Ralph:
Just sit back, and man, this is something I'll never forget. You
can't ask for any better than this.
<they go back to Ponderosa>
Steve: It was a nice day
at Morgan's Rock. It's nice to be back here, on solid ground.
<the mackerel Steve and Ralph caught is cooked for dinner>
Ralph: My goodness. Sure
beats sitting around that campfire.
Ponderosa Part 3
The jury gets
ready for Tribal Council
<Julie,
Ralph, and Steve look out at the ocean>
Ralph: There's some
whales that got their tails up out of the water. Looks like
about 300 yards, yonder rocks. Waving its tail, blowing water.
Huge. You see that tail coming out of the water like it's
waving? First time I ever seen that.
<Ralph eats and plays pool with Steve>
Ralph (solo): I can't
wait to go to Tribal Council and sit on the jury. I'm gonna try
to smile, (didn't hear this part) and see who's voted off
tonight.
Steve (solo): Stinks
being out of it, but we have a full stomach and just sit on the
other side of the table and watch this trainwreck happening. The
backstabbing's gonna start, and who's gonna rise to the top?
Ralph (solo): I don't
think it will be Phillip. I think it'll be one of the girls,
Ashley or Natalie. Boston Rob might vote Grant off to eliminate
Matt and Mike.
<they walk to the van>
Steve: Let's see the next
chapter. Who's getting voted off.
EW Deleted Scene:
Mike:
So, last night, the arrival of Andrea was very
different than the previous arrivals we had with Julie, David,
Ralph, and Steve. Last night there was some animosity between
Matt and Andrea and Ralph and Andrea. It wasn't exactly a
welcoming hut last night. Matt is still pretty disgruntled with
the Ometepe tribe, and he was closest to Andrea, so I think her
showing up reminds him of how she really burned him, twice. It
came out last night in conversation.
(cut)
I kind of figured it would be the girls, most likely Andrea. I
wasn't really surprised, but I was happy to tell her, hey, if
you and Matt jumped, we would have taken it to the final 4, as I
promised you. I think Matt knows that. I'm a little upset with
Matt that he shared the information I shared with him to his
tribe and Rob. I wish Andrea had been bold enough to jump over
to. But they felt the decisions they needed to make. I fell
short of saying "I told you so," but I kind of
expected to see her tonight.
(cut)
My personal opinion of Andrea is that she seems like a great
gal. She seems hard-working, from the Midwest, really nice. Last
night i was trying to get some sleep and...
(cut)
She wanted to chat all night. But I just wish she was a little
bit more brazen. If she had made a move during the mere, it
would have paid off.
(cut)
Andrea was just blindsided by her tribe, and she was part of
voting, Matt, Ralph, and I out. Andrea's really not feeling
welcomed by her tribe or the remaining folks here on Redemption
Island. She's definitely the odd man out.
