Tribal Council
Watch as another Fei Long tribemate is sent packing at Tribal
Council. What did everyone have to say as they cast their votes?
Denise
(Sherea with a "3" in (her) top left hand corner): Sherea,
I'm sorry I have to vote for you. I don't know you that well, but I
gotta stick with our group, with Fei Long. I'm sorry, but you gotta
go.
Courtney
(Jean-Robert): Still you. I like Sherea better, I'm not voting for
her. (does a little dance with the card) It might not do anything
tonight, but it still makes me feel better.
Jean-Robert
("Cherya"): Just gotta go with the group. It's unfortunate
we didn't get to know each other better. Enjoyed that one hour we
spent together.
Frosti
(Sherea): In a game of trust, all I can trust is you're playing for
you, and I'm playing for me, and you'dve done the same thing. (walks
away, then turns to flash the peace sign)
Amanda
("Sheria"): I think you're a really nice girl but there's
just too many conflicting personalities in the tribe right now. Good
luck to you.
Sherea
("JR") Somebody along the way told you you were hot; I'm
gonna bust that big bubble you call a mouth and tell you you're not.
Todd
("Sheria"): It's definitely not something I wanted to do.
I gotta stay with my numbers cause I gotta get myself one step
further. Sorry babe.
Secret Scene: Sherea
Though Jean-Robert tries to find out which tribe
Sherea is aligned with, she is unwilling to reveal much about her
gameplay.
(JR and Sherea in the water)
JR
: When we picked you and Frosti, we were trying to get the two
strongest. I was glad when the two of you came cause you're both
such a pleasure to have around. The fact of the matter is you guys
got dealt a rough deal in that trade. Do you feel like you're Zhan
Hu or Fei Long right now?
Sherea
: Everything's a possibility. I just assume we're just like,
"Zhan Hu, Zhan Hu," cause you haven't really talked to me.
JR
: I haven't talked to you at all. That's why I'm glad you came into
the water right now to talk.
Sherea
: My situation was over at Zhan Hu, so you can't really assume that
just because I'm over here now means I'm definitely with them.
Sherea
(solo): I can't stand Jean-Robert, he likes to hear himself, he's
full of himself, and he never says anything that matters. I'll let
him keep talking, and I'll keep listening, but I still think he's
disgusting though. (makes a disgusted noise)
Zhan Hu Tree Mail
With Immunity on the line, Peih-Gee returns to camp with Tree Mail
and reads it to her tribe. What will it mean for Zhan Hu?
(Day
18; Peih-Gee opens the treemail, a box containing a few pieces of
meat)
Peih-Gee
: Oh my God. Oh my God, a food challenge! It's like my favorite food
ever.
PG
(solo): When I opened treemail and saw the bamboo streamer, I knew
it was food challenge. That already made me happy. I opened it up
and I'm like, "Oh my God, they put one of my favorite snacks in
there!" They might as well have put a cheeseburger in there.
I'm hungry anyway, we're all hungry. I'm psyched. We're all hungry
and ready to eat. I don't even think of this as a challenge, I think
of it as a reward.
(PG runs back to camp)
Jaime
: What is it? Is it good?
PG
: We're having a buffet today!
Jaime
: Like a bad food buffet?
PG
: Yes. (opens the basket to show Jaime the food) Food challenge.
Jaime
: Yes! Hell yeah. What is that?
PG
: Oh my God, it's one of my favorite foods ever. (Erik doesn't seem
sure, but she says it is) Brazed duck feet.
Jaime
(holds a duck foot up to inspect): Oh! A duck foot!
PG
(reads the treemail):
Moldy rice, the occasional fish
And dealing with this crazy weather
If you swallow your pride, and a local dish
You just might keep your tribe together
(Erik, Jaime, and PG enjoy the meal)
Jaime
(chewing on the duck foot): I think James will eat anything.
PG
: James will eat anything. I'm not even worried about James. I miss
James.
PG
(solo): We had faith in our old Zhan Hu members Sherea and Frosti,
and we're sort of not getting a good feeling from them, so we're
having to sort of rethink our strategy. Maybe it wasn't such a good
thing after all. And I'm starting to get a good feeling from James
now that we can trust him, so we wanna win the next few challenges
to kind of cement having him over on our side.
Sherea's Final Words
Soon after having her torch extinguished, Sherea gives her final
words. How does she think the rest of the game will play out?
"The fact that the Fei Long people decided to stay together for
numbers just says that they're getting played and they'll realize it
sooner or later. I'm competition, I'm a strong female, of course
they're gonna see that as a threat."
(cut)
"Eventually, what's gonna happen is JR, or Jean-Robert, is
going to start trying to vote his own people off. They don't realize
that right now, but he's the puppetmaster, and if and when they
merge, Jaime, Erik, and PG are gonna stay strong. I don't know about
Frosti now, since he's so quick to jump sides, but eventually
they're gonna start fighting within each other."
(cut)
"I hope Jean-Robert gets voted out ASAP. He doesn't deserve to
win, he's fake, and he's being fake with everybody else. Eventually
they'll see it, and if they don't, then that's their loss."
(cut)
"The city girl made it 18 days out here. I'm so proud of
myself. I never gave up, I tried my best, I did what I had to do. I
hope half of 'em get screwed since some of them screwed me. They
knew they couldn't beat me in the challenges. I was the strong one,
they were the weak ones. It's all good. I'm ready to go eat, take a
bath. Cool. I'm ready to go."
Sherea, the Day After
What did this feisty competitor have to say the day after being
ousted from the game? Find out what she learned from her experience
now.
"This
game strips away everything you think that you need on a day-to-day
basis and survive. In Survivor you literally are surviving. I don't
think you can be prepared for what you have to go through out there.
Nothing could have prepared me for actually building my own shelter,
going to catch my own food, going to the bathroom next to a pile of
ants. Nothing could have prepared me for it and I don't think
anybody except for the people who have gone through it can truly
understand what it means to be on Survivor."
(cut)
"I got to a point where I was like, I'm here, you've gotta make
it, see what you can do. Doesn't matter what you look like, you have
to let your guard down. I was eating things that I'd in real life I
would never put my fingers on. A snail. Baby snails. I was even
eating mussels, and I was eating it like it was the best food I had
ever tasted, ever. There were a lot of things I was letting my guard
down on literally to survive, because there were moments where I
felt like I'm not gonna make it out here without some food in my
system. I had to eat and live to survive out there. I was very
surprised at myself."
(cut)
"I have a better appreciation for things. I'm still the same
Sherea, I just learned more about Sherea. I know that I'm way
stronger than I even thought I was. I always thought I was a strong
person, but I see now that it only takes simple things to make you
realize how strong you are as a person. My attitude is still the
same, I'm still upbeat, still sarcastic, still full of life, but at
the same time...I can appreciate being outside with the bugs for a
little while. I can tolerate the humidity a little more now. I'm not
as prissy as I was when I came out here."
(cut)
"As a teacher, I have more control, and I have people who are
actually looking up to me and needing me. In the game of Survivor
people don't really need you. They use you to get where they want to
go. As a teacher, kids don't even know what using me as a teacher
is. They need me to survive in the classroom. In Survivor they don't
you, they're trying to get rid of you so they can get themselves
further along."
(cut)
"It was very difficult of me not to let the teacher and the
leader come out of Sherea. I had to walk around with my mouth shut
and my ears and eyes open, which is very difficult for me. I held a
lot in and I felt like my personality, except for in challenges,
kind of slowed down. I didn't feel like myself all the time. I
wasn't wanting to talk all time, I didn't have much to say when I
was out there. In the challenges, it was like Sherea times ten came
out. I don't know, it was very weird for me. I definitely had to
step back outside of myself and learn to listen and learn to watch
instead of talking all the time."
(cut)
"The game of Survivor in relation to teaching fourth
graders...it's in relation to life, just dealing with people itself.
I had to step back out of myself and not be the teacher while I was
on Survivor and just be the student. That was different for me.
Still had the same personalities you deal with in children every
day. You got the bully, you got the insecure kid, the outspoken
child, the busybody child, same thing, just dealing with adults.
Totally different. They're actually harder to deal with than
children. (laughs)"
(cut)
"I did get a lot of strength from knowing I had kids who were
going to be watching me on TV and looking up to me. I think that was
the majority of the reason I kept going, I didn't want to embarrass
myself, and not only that, I didn't want my kids to see me weak. It
gave me a lot of strength. I was like, yeah, you gotta keep going,
you can't stop."
(cut)
"I think that personality-wise, my students, friends and family
will say that's how I am in the classroom, but when they see me in
the challenges, they're not gonna believe it. They're not gonna
believe it. (laughs)"
(cut)
"I am very competitive at home, especially at work, it's really
weird. We have competitions at my job amongst teachers and I'm
always fighting to be the best. I'm fighting for my kids that feel
that, to be the best. I know I may not always gonna be #1, but I
know for damn sure I'm not gonna be last. It was very surprising for
me to get on Survivor and people be like, 'Oh we're scared of you.'
Never crossed my mind that I would be a physical threat at
all."
(cut)
"I think Sherea the survivor and Sherea the teacher, I'm gonna
bring so much more...I'm already a hands-on teacher, but I'm gonna
bring so much more. I'm already planning Survivor days for my kids
in the classroom. I'm gonna bring much more hands-on learning and
just different ways of seeing and thinking that I can give my kids a
better way and much more fun way of learning. I thought I was
already a fun teacher but now I have so many more ideas and things I
want my children to experience through me."
