Final Episode of Survivor China ~ "A Slippery Little Sucker!"

"Slippery When Wet!"

by Ron Wilkes
Frostbite Falls, Minnesota  12.16.MMVII

This China edition of Survivor brings us the third edition of voting for the final three castaways.  Survivor Cook Islands gave us Becky, Ozzy and Yul.  Survivor Fiji Islands gave us Dreamz, Cassandra and Earl and now the jury will decide among Courtney, Amanda and Todd.  This intel was uncovered by certain internet spoilers even before the first episode of the show aired.  Hmmm?  I wonder, will the scenario of male castaway winners continue?  Our master detective thinks NOT!  Dani recently posted this on another survivor message board: "Well, it's that time for Winner projections, so we'll get ours in now.  I spoiled Amanda last with a proper crowning picture, and have had her in the first place position all along because from everything we've been told about her, and the game, it's our informed speculation that leads us to believe she will garner more favor from the jury, and win Survivor: China."

In my first article posted on September 18, 2007 (see below), I made predictions on the list of the final 7 castaways who would complete the game.  Here is what I wrote:

"Internet detectives Vern, Dani and other survivor website sleuths, with some help from TV guide Survivor storyboard video promos, have come up with the likely final seven castaways.   Well, this season ... I too ..... umm AGAIN ...... will take my best guess at the boot order of the final seven players.  So, heeere goes!

Note: Highlight the final 7 (list below) only if you want to know my predictions on the order of the final seven castaways.  (Here I've revealed the list.)
F7 player .................. James Clement
F6 player .................. Erik Huffman
F5 player .................. Peih Gee Law
F4 player .................. Denise Martin
F3 player .................. Courtney Yates
F2 player .................. Amanda Kimmel
F1 player .................. Todd Herzog

The above list coincides with the boot list order offered by DanieuBleu ........ although the final three players were not in any particular order and merely listed as the final three players.  There has been much discussion on the web speculating that Amanda will be the ultimate winner.  Yet, I have always suggested that Todd, a student of the game, is the rightful million dollar winner.  Now we shall see ....... if my prediction has come true.

These are my predictions for the fourth to first place winners.

Denise    (and the final three)    Courtney    Amanda    Todd

http://www.survivorfever.com/coppermine/cpgallery/displayimage.php?album=10&pos=78

Denise Martin finishes in fourth place.  The (F4) Immunity Challenge (endurance challenge) winner is Courtney Yates.

Probst said, "Denise Martin is a lunch lady. She is one of the most endearing people we've had on the show in a long time. She has an unmistakable haircut, a mullet. It's a fascinating piece of hairstyle, you can't help but ask her about it. Her answer was so charming. She said, "I work with food so I have a need to keep my hair short to keep it out of the food. I'm also a woman and I'm a wife and I want to be sexy for my husband so I want some length in the back. What you see is what you get."

Yes, the karate black belt holder, elementary school lunch lady, mother of three daughters from New England somehow made it to the final four.  She made it by flying under the radar and having the fortunate luck of being a member of the powerful Fei Long tribe and the reshuffled New Fei Longs Red Dragons.  With James physical challenge assistance, the Red Dragons won 4 of the 6 immunity challenges up until the merge episode (episode 7).  Alas, Denise will not win a single immunity necklace to protect her in this game.  Yet, she will outlast 12 other castaways and stay 37 days in the game.  Anyway, who would want to go up against the nice lunch lady.

http://www.survivorfever.com/coppermine/cpgallery/displayimage.php?album=10&pos=57

Courtney Yates finishes in third place.

Courtney ............ Courtney ............... Courtney ..........  Tiny little half-pint, blond hair, brown eyed model working for the ID Model Agency of New York!  The English major and waitress can't chop a rope with a machete but she can sure ride a barrel.  That task gave her an immunity win in episode eight.  She didn't get along with chatter mouth, card shark J-Robert and Courtney always had an honest or sarcastic opinion about the other members of the tribe.

"Courtney [Yates] is the smallest person we've had. She couldn't have weighted 100 pounds but she passed our physical test and was cleared by the doctors. She is one of the wittiest and negative people we've ever had on the show. I really got a kick out of Courtney. I enjoyed her sarcasm, her extremely dry wit. She always had a comment about what was going on and it was almost always funny and simultaneously insightful. Her liability is going to be her size. Can she contribute anything worth keeping her around? Or does she try to last long enough where her size becomes an asset because nobody thinks she can win so they keep her around. She's in a really interesting position. If I were her I'd just try to bury myself somewhere in the middle and hope I can make it so late that a combination of my personality and my lack of physical ability will make me somebody you want to keep around. Courtney was, for me, a delight because of her caustic personality," said Jeff Probst.

Courtney was never a popular player on the CBS popularity poll as she always polled in the low single percentages.  Yet, none of the other final four castaways did much better (single digits and teens).  Like Yau Man of Survivor Fiji, James who was booted in episode 10 was the most popular player.  He always rated in the double digit percentages and reached a popularity rating of 55% in episode nine.

Courtney voted lock step with Amanda and Todd since the merge and that voting alliance has kept her in the game.  But most speculate that Courtney will not win the million dollars.

http://www.survivorfever.com/coppermine/cpgallery/displayimage.php?album=10&pos=66

Amanda Kimmel finishes in second place.

Probst stated, "Amanda [Kimmel] is a former Miss Montana. She's beautiful. Great physical body in terms of athlete. She's very strong and can pull her own weight at camp and at challenges. She knows the game very well. She totally gets how Survivor is played. She is playing to win. Amanda is somebody you look around and think she's a little like Amber, keep her around until you don't need her anymore. Good luck."

Sorry ............ but here I must go against the crowd.  I say Amanda was NOT controlling this game.  Although, she may win the million dollars like Amber did in Survivor All Stars. It was Todd Herzog (just like Rob Mariano) pulling the strings!

In episode 2, Jaime gave the hidden idol clue to Leslie whom immediately reveals it to Todd.  In episode 3, Leslie gave the hidden idol clue to Todd and not Amanda.  In episode 4, Dave gave the hidden idol clue to Todd.  After the player swap of episode 5, in the next episode James delivers another hidden idol clue to Todd.  Todd only then, fills in Amanda about the hidden idol (Until then, Amanda had no idea of what was going on) and both Todd and Amanda get the first plaque.  Todd then tells James about the other clues, gives him the first plaque for safe keeping and instructs James to retrieve the second plaque which is located at the Zhan Hu camp.

At the merge (episode 7), Todd convinces the others to keep J-Robert for another few days because they need the numbers and his vote. In episode 8, James is targeted by Todd to be eliminated because he is a challenge threat and holds the two formerly hidden immunity idols.  Yet, J-Robert is even more of an annoyance to the tribe and with Courtney's approval, (she desperately wanted to get rid of him) J-Robert is booted.   The grave digger (James) who feels secure in his alliance is blindsided in episode ten.  In that episode Amanda said "I'm ready to get rid of my ally [James] in order to eventually win the whole thing."  Yet, two episodes later when she won her only immunity challenge and had her chance to control, upset the game plan and take Todd - out of the game - ......... she didn't.  Instead PG was eliminated.

Todd Herzog finishes in first place and wins the title, "Sole Survivor, China!"

Probst seemed to know that Todd was a potential winner.

He said, " ....... Todd, he's one of the biggest fans ever. The first day he says something like that to me. He goes, "Jeff, I've been watching this show since I was 16. I've been waiting until I could apply." This kid couldn't drive when we started. He did know the game. It's because he's been watching since he was a kid. I'll tell ya, in his case, it pays off. He knew going in how to start the game. He had a game plan how an alliance best worked and how you worked people."   "...... Of all the people on the show this season, Todd knew Survivor the best. Todd knows what to expect. He knows the odds of there being a merge or a loved one visit or an auction. He can tell you based on what day it is what we're probably doing back at base camp. It's kinda scary how much he knew about the show. He's a great storyteller. Like Jean-Robert, Todd is somebody you go to all the time because he always gives you something good."

Twenty two year old, Utah native, gay Mormon, flight attendant, Todd Herzog deserves to win the million dollars.  Yet, most claim he doesn't win.  It all depends on how he handles the question and answer session from the jurors.  I say he was .......... the consummate player's player!  Yet, except for Richard Hatch (survivor Borneo) and maybe Brian Heidik (survivor Thailand) no one player's player has come close.  Todd Herzog was a strategist, a schemer and a little bit slippery but isn't that what you really need to do in order to win the game of survivor?

Till next time ........ see you for All Star Survivor in Palau Micronesia.

Episode 12 ~ "Hello, I'm Still a Person"

"The Last Yellow Tiger"

By Ron Wilkes
Frostbite Falls, Minnesota  12.13.MMVII

Five castaways are left in the game.  Nerves are frayed and some alliances may crumble in three more days of Mark Burnett's game of survivor.  We will soon know the final four.  But first we must endure another reward challenge.

The challenge board calls this reward challenge "Zen Archery."  Thanks to SFN staffer Zinc, the castaways are using a Chinese repeating crossbow to shoot arrows at a gameboard which holds 25 colored squares.  Each player has five of their own colored squares affixed in various patterns on the game board.  We expect the task is to eliminate the opposing castaway by hitting their colored square.

Well, Who Wins?

Todd wins the reward challenge and takes Courtney as his guest on an overnight  visit to the Great Wall of China.

Meanwhile, back at the camp Amanda, Denise and P.G. discuss the possibility of forming a new alliance and possibly getting rid of Todd at the next tribal council event.  Will a new alliance take hold or will old alliances survive?  Hmmm, guess we will soon find out.  However, much strategy will depend on who wins the individual immunity talisman.

As usual, at this timeframe in the game, the immunity challenge is a super challenge which incorporates several of the past challenge tasks into one event entitled "Chinese Leftovers."  It seems to be a multi-stage elimination event.  Most suggest that Amanda wins her first immunity challenge and thus wears the immunity necklace to that evening's tribal council.  I agree!

Back in September, internet spoilers 'Vern' and 'DanieuBleu' gave us the name of this episode's victim.

javascript:;
Peih-Gee Law

I've always liked P.G. and I'm glad she survived 36 days on an island in the Zhelin Lake reservoir in mainland China.  She was an outspoken and a competitive player.  She has won two immunity necklaces which has kept her in the game.  But not this time ......... and now, it's time for her to go.

Probst said, "Peih-Gee [Law] has a very strong opinion about everything and that is going to be her biggest obstacle to get over is to not tell you what she thinks...and often it's negative...and often it's delivered in a negative way. What Peih-Gee has going for her is willpower. She will not go away. You're going to have to really want to get rid of her."

Yet, you have not head the last from this Asian gal, who is the last yellow tiger from the former Zhan Hu tribe.  She is the sixth of seven jurors whom will chose the sole survivor from among the final three castaways.

Reward:  Todd Herzog
Immunity: Amanda Kimmel
Boot:  Peih-Gee Law

"Crocodile Tears!"

by Ron Wilkes
Frostbite Falls, MN    12.06.MMVII

Well, it's time for the family visit and a reward challenge ensues where probably the castaway's loved ones participate.  Most speculate that Denise and her husband wins the challenge and chooses both Todd, Amanda and their family members as her reward guests on the reward trip.

Todd wins the immunity obstacle course challenge and Erik Huffman gets sent packing.  Erik was a past target and now it's his time to go.  No crocodile tears for him.

Episode 10, "Ready To Bite The Apple"

"Grave-Digger!"

by ron wilkes
Frostbite Falls, Minnesota  11.29.MMVII

CBS Teasers:

  • One Castaway grows anxious and threatens to change things up by blindsiding her best friend.
Translation: Denise may consider blindsiding friend James.
  • Also, an alliance considers blindsiding one of their own.
Translation: Todd's alliance may consider blindsiding James.
  • And all the castaways are blindsided by a surprise announcement from Jeff.
Translation:  Some spoilers suggest that Jeff announces that the next reward challenge will begin immediately after the tribal council event.
Hmmm!  What does this episode's title suggest?

According to SFN staffer Blind Freddy, it was James who spoke the (EP-9) last episode's title: 'Just Don't Eat the Apple' , when referring to Courtney flirting with Frosti.  Now we have this episode's title: 'Ready to Bite the Apple'."

Well, I say that this refers to the Biblical "Garden of Eden" story.  James brought up - the don't eat the apple thing - during a confessional in the last episode.  James' WARNING was relating to the Frosti - Courtney hook-up.  Yet, Frosti did not heed the biblical warning.  And FROSTI was sent out of paradise.

Therefore, in this episode, JAMES  (somehow symbolically, I dunno, - or maybe by causing trouble in camp, by attempting to exercise his power or by threatening Todd and Amanda) is ready to go against Todd.  And by doing so ..... James is  .... 'Ready to Eat the Apple' ..... and thus, (in biblical story terms) he (James) actually DOES eat the apple and is sent out - BOOTED out of the 'Garden of Eden' ..... or in our case, he's voted out of the game.

Well, back on September 13th, spoiler detective 'DanieuBleau' of the website SurvivorSkills told us that James would be a final sixth place player.  Then, about ten days later she revised his finalist position to F7.  Now recently, she confirmed her prediction when she wrote, "James has the two powerful, game-saving Hidden Immunity Idols in his possession and his situation in the game looks great!  He felt secure in his alliance and safe in the game.   Unfortunately for him, his position turns bleak when he should use a Hidden Idol but doesn't. He never sees the blindside coming when he's led into snuffination, like a lamb to slaughter."

javascript:;
James Clement

At the teleconference Jeff Probst said, "James [Clement] is a grave-digger from Louisiana. Physically, the biggest guy we've ever had on the show.  Surprisingly one of the most agile."  ".... James is kind of like a gentle giant in that he's pretty quiet unless you rile him up and then he has no filter and he will say whatever he is thinking at whatever volume he wants to say it.  That was interesting and a bit of a liability for him out there."

The problem with James is that he was too much of a threat to Todd and Amanda's alliance.  Indeed, he was a physical challenge threat.  Moreover, he was the holder of not one but two of the two formerly hidden immunity idols.  After Todd had revealed the hidden idols secrets to him, James did not offer to share the immunity security with others in his alliance and his with outspokenness (i.e. throwing his weight around) and with his other two weapons, it is to no ones surprise (well ..... except to his) that James Clement just had to go!  I guess it's so true that our gravedigger castaway has dug his very own grave.

RC:  James - Amanda team gets to visit the Shaolin Temple

"Courtney and Frosti in the Garden of Eden!"

by ron wilkes
Frostbite Falls, Minnesota    11.15.MMVII

There is not much to go on for this episode except for some previous intel garnered from some internet spoilers.  So, I guess that will have to do.  Anyway, here are my abbreviated predictions for this episode.

CBS teasers:

A new force to be reckoned with takes on the power players.
Translation: P.G. shows that she can compete with the power players and she wins her first individual immunity challenge.

When one girl starts kissing and caressing someone outside her alliance, her allies are not happy.
Translation: Courtney starts kissing and caressing Frosti.  Todd or Amanda are not happy with that situation.

One vulnerable castaway may change his fate by…acting like a sheep?

Translation: Erik changes his fate by ......... acting like a sheep and helps to vote out Frosti.  Baaaa Baaa!

EP-8, "High School Friend Contest"

"A Bad Deal!"

by ron wilkes
Frostbite Falls, MN    11.08.MMVII

In early September in a TV Guide article Jeff Probst said, Immunity idols are now "hidden in plain sight" at each camp — unbeknownst to most players.  And each week, someone is kidnapped by members of the other team and induced — sometimes by forced starvation — to rat out their own tribe and form alliances with their captors. The final twist: Three players go to final tribal council again , says Probst. "It prohibits one person winning through to the end and then taking an extremely unlikable person with them."

Well Jeffy, I say that was nice hype!  Now .... let's look at the facts.  In the last seven episodes only four players (Jaime, Leslie, Dave and James) were kidnapped.  No kidnapped castaways were starved.  And both hidden immunity idols (plaques) have been found.  Moreover, we know that James controls both plaques and the two tribes have merged into one.

In the last episode, J.R. confidentially told James that he has obtained the hidden immunity idol.   Soon everyone will know that gambler Bobby is merely bluffing.  Hehehehe!

Anyway, I expect that there will be no more kidnapped castaways and maybe Todd's powerful Fei Long alliance group may begin to crumble.  Does the alliance actually crumble?  Not on your life!  Courtney is on the edge ....... of something .... but I not sure what it is.  She desperately wants to get rid of J-Robert ......... and Courtney will probably get her way in this episode, since most insiders give - two to one odds - that Bobby is eliminated in this episode.

Yes, the numbers reveal that the cards are stacked against the remaining former Zhan Hu castaways Erik, Frosti and P.G.  Moreover, the cards are even more stacked against J-Robert.  He is the outsider in the old Fei Long gang of six.  Yet, as a former L.A. nightclub owner (Sky Sushi), an author and a professional poker player, can he find Todd's tell?  Does he know what Todd has planned for him?  Maybe, but even with J-Robert's feeble attempts to survive, he won't be able to do anything which will keep him in this game.  It isn't in the cards!

A bio article on Bellande whose nickname is "Action Bob" said, "At the poker table, Bellande is the ultimate psychological warrior.  He often baits his opponents with ceaseless chatter and enjoys putting his opponents on tilt."

Actually, we have found that those same obnoxious tactics do not work in the game of survivor.  Well, it's round eight and unfortunately, Bobby ..... its time to fold-em, throw em down and cash in your chips.

javascript:;
Jean-Robert Bellande

Host Probst said of him, "Jean-Robert [Bellande] is extremely confidant to the point of cocky arrogance.  Part of that is his plan, part is just natural personality.  In terms of somebody you want to have on the show, he's gold."

With a 1 in 16 shot at a cool million dollars, we find that J-Robert is the eighth player in the game to go bust!  But hey!  He was only eight players short of a million.  Yeah ....... but pleeze don't hold your breath Bobby 'cause close only counts in horse shoes and hand grenades!   Seems like 'Action Bob' just got hold of a bad deal.  Anyway, Bobby you were just so lucky to get this far.

Summary:

EP-8,    Reward Challenge:  J-Robert's team of James, Todd and Amanda
EP-8,    Kidnapped:  No one
EP-8,    Immunity Challenge:  Frosti Zernow
EP-8,    Voted Out:  Jean-Robert Bellande is the second member of the jury

Episode 7: "I'm Not as Dumb as I Look!"

"Untitled"

by Ron Wilkes
Frostbite Falls, Minnesota  11.01.MMVII

In the last episode, James was given the hidden immunity plaque in a clever scheme devised by Todd.  Frosti was brought into the alliance because he briefly saw the hidden immunity message when the plaque was obtained by Todd and Amanda.

Later at the immunity challenge, Todd's plan was to actually win the gross food eating challenge and James was to throw the challenge for the Zhan Hu tribe and then boot out Jaime at the next tribal council event.  Well, it didn't work out as planned.  The yellow tribe actually won this challenge when Fei Long tribe mate Denise, just couldn't finish her challenge task.

Well, there will be no surprise in this episode because, as I mentioned in my last article, upon James' return to the Zhan Hu camp, he immediately retrieves the second idol plaque.  Yet, when Jaime notices that one of the plaques at the Zhen Hu camp is missing she says: "I'm not as dumb as I look!"  She and Erik take the other plaque down.  They believe it is the third immunity idol.  But is it the actual hidden idol?  Nope!   It's not the correct idol plaque and there is no message (Congratulations You've Found the Hidden Immunity Idol) written on the reverse side of this phony idol.

This is the tribal merge episode and the first juror in a jury pool of seven members will be selected.  When the tribes get together for the expected reward challenge, they are surprised to learn no challenge will occur but the two tribes will merge into one, as the blue shirted cowboy Jeff Probst says, "drop your buffs."   The feast soon ensues with food and booze served and the castaway's are entertained by Chinese acrobats and performers.  Yet, the castaways are unaware that the food and festivities also represent a memory challenge that will soon occur ..... at the next immunity challenge.  Hehehehe!

The immunity challenge task is to answer questions about the recent merge events and show performances.  Only Frosti can correctly answer the greatest number of questions.  Thus, he will win the challenge.

Even though Jean-Robert was promoted as a target for elimination, most predict that Todd still needs him to keep up tribal alliance numbers.  Todd feels that J-Robert can be strung along for awhile.  So what happens at that nights tribal council?  Well, an earlier TV Guide video promo with a challenge storyboard and a names list gave us a clue.  Jamie's name was mysteriously missing from the final nine names list.  So, we expect that the former enemy (Zhan Hu) tribe castaway Jaime Dugan gets booted from the game.

http://
Jaime Dugan

Probst has said: "She's very pretty and she's from South Carolina. She's got a pretty good head on her shoulders especially when it comes to being with people. Jaime factors into the strategy of her tribe quite a bit."

Jaime, you were indeed quite refreshing in the show.  it's so sad to see you go!

EP-7,  Reward Challenge:  No reward challenge
EP-7,  Kidnapped:  No one is kidnapped since both hidden idols have been found
EP-7,  Immunity Challenge:  Frosti Zernow
EP-7,  Voted Out:  Jaime Dugan is the seventh castaway to be booted and the first juror in the game

Episode 6: "That's Love, Baby!  It Makes You Strong!"

"That's good Television!"

by Ron Wilkes
Frostbite Falls, Minnesota        10.25.MMVII

Okay, I must admit that I wasn't exactly accurate on my fictionalized scenario about the tribal conversations in my last prediction article.  (See my previous article below).  I had speculated that Todd would tell James about the idol and together they would find the hidden immunity idol.  Then after the player swap, James would take the idol back with him over to the enemy camp.  Well, we all now know that didn't happen!

It seems, I was just one episode off.  Moreover, it was just local fishermen, not Jeff Probst, in the fishing boat that carried the secret player swap message to the tribes.   Yet, all was not lost.  With spoiler intel, much of my other predictions were indeed ...... spot on .... and yes, Aaron Reisberger is now vacationing in China along with Chicken, Ashley, Leslie and Dave.

I suggest that the tribal swap game twist didn't make for good television.  It was a huge mistake.  Why!  Because it occurred thirteen days into the game when the castaways had already bonded with their respective tribes.  Uneven numbers and possible traitors in your midst brought an untenable situation for some castaways and provided a clear path to deception.  Hmmm!  Come to think of it, maybe that's what the producers actually wanted after all.

In this episode, at the "Search and Decode" reward challenge, the castaways search through rooms in abandoned buildings for clues to solve a puzzle or to answer questions which were given to the tribes.  The winning tribe will again kidnap an enemy castaway and win another clue (clue number four) to the whereabouts of the hidden immunity idol.  Thanks to SFN contributor BlindFreddy, the hidden idol clue reads:

Clue # 4

Open up your eyes
Look neither to the sky
Nor to the grass
For it's right in plain sight
you great big dumb ass!

Okay ......... Okay!  That's NOT the real clue but ..... it is ..... awfully funny.  Don't you agree!

Anyway, Fei Long wins the reward challenge and strategically chooses to kidnap James.  Their former tribemate will then deliver the idol clue to Todd, inform the red dragons that Zhan Hu (John Who) threw the last immunity challenge, tell them that Aaron was booted and explain PG's devious plan.  And I MUST say, it was a brilliant plan.  PG realized that there was no way that Aaron and James would defect to their side.  Let's call it  .... the  dark side.  So, with the numbers against them and the looming merge, what choice did the John Who yellow tigers have?

However, Todd will not let the Zhan Hu plan succeed.  Using the fourth clue, Todd will secretly find the plaque, take it down and turn it over only to find both a message and a medallion attached thereon.

The message on the reverse side of the plaque says:

"Attached hereon you will find
a medallion on a golden chain.
And with this idol,  you are assigned
immunity in the game."

Todd will then replace the plaque and no one will be the wiser.  Hehehehe!

But, according to a CBS teaser, a  rival tribemate, ( ahh! .... that would be James) somehow discovers that Todd has found the hidden idol.  James will plead with Todd, saying that he needs it for protection when he must later return to the John Who tribe.  Because of course, James fully expects to get booted if the John Who tigers should attend the next tribal council.  Yet, without the medallion's protection, James would be willing to go.  I assume ...... just to get rid of or away from the John who tribemates.

Anyway, schemer Todd realizes that he both needs James strength and more alliance numbers, so Todd gives James the immunity.  In return, James must remain a faithful loyal ally to Todd and he must return to the old Fei Long tribal majority alliance after the upcoming merge.  And so the deal is set.

No one knows that unaligned outcast Frosti has secretly cut a deal with Todd.  Frosti will move to the dark side.  Hehehehe (Insert evil laughter sound effect here.) Some suggest that James also finds the second hidden medallion which is located over at the John Who camp.  I will agree but I say that James may find it in a later episode.

(L - R Todd, James)  "Thanks for the idol medallion. Man I owe you big time!"

Todd probably does not tell the other castaways that he has found the hidden idol but after hearing about Peih Gee's plan, Todd suggests that maybe they should throw the next immunity challenge.  Then they would get rid of either Frosti or Sherea.  Even though the Fei Long tribe dislikes the irritating J-Robert, Todd feels they must keep him until at least the merge episode.

Does Fei Long actually throw the challenge?  Well, let's keep that a mystery.

Later, the icky food eating contest immunity challenge titled "Name that Spoon" occurs.  The castaways must dine on exotic Chinese delicacies.  The new Zhan Hu (John Who) tribe wins the immunity challenge.

So, who is booted?  Well, back on August 21, 2007 spoiler Vern told us "- One African Am. is out prejury and one is jury ... neither will be in the final 2 and probably not [in the] final 3."   Moreover, (per internet detective DanieuBleau) we know that Sherea Lloyd is slated to be the next tribal council victim.

javascript:;
Sherea Lloyd

Jeff Probst has said that the fourth grade teacher was out of her element in China.  And yet, she was both strong in her challenge competitions and strong in her point of view.  "She loves to mix it up. She loves to go head to head with you about anything. It makes for good television," he said.

EP-5:    "Love is in The Air!"

"And something is Rotten in Denmark!"

By ron wilkes
Frostbite Falls, Minnesota    10.18.MMVII

It's the early morning hours of filming Night 12 - Day 13 and this episode starts out with the John Hu tiger tribe returning to camp with one less castaway.  Yes, Crazy Dave was unanimously voted out of the game at that nights tribal council.   In the last four episodes, they have lost three immunity challenges and three members of their tribe are history.

Dani from the SurvivorSkills website tells us, "Here's the deal...Todd is biggest schemer of the season, and Amanda is such a close second it's unreal.  Together they are playing everyone like the Survivor pros they are.  They have James on the hook, and plan that he shares the idol with them after the merge. They also have baited Aaron, but he doesn't know about their plan with James, and he thinks he's tight with the dynamic duo.  He's being set up, and will take the fall."

Now, the scene cuts over to the Fei Long tribe and we see Todd.  He is secretly talking with James.  My fictionalized scenario of the conversation goes something like this:

TODD:  Listen, James I've got a proposal for you.  Truth be told, .... I'm in an alliance with Amanda and Courtney and we were wondering if you would be interested in joining our alliance.  We need a strong guy like you to help us win the challenges.  If you agree, I have some information that I could pass on to you.

JAMES:  I'm listening man!  Hmm! ..... you, me, Courtney and Aman ..... da ......

TODD:  (he interrupts James)  And if we do this right, it can take all four of us to the finals.  Are you in?

JAMES:  Okay ..... Okay!  I'm in.  Now what's that information ..... about?

TODD:  Here's the deal, ....... I have obtained the clues to the secret hidden idol and we will share them with you.  And if you help us get the idol .... just to show our trust for you ......... you can hold it for 'safe keeping' .... but after the merge, you must promise that you will share the idol with our little group.  Do we have a deal?

JAMES:  Todd ........ we have a deal!  (The guys shake hands and when James is about to walk away..... )

TODD:  (Todd hesitates a moment and then grabs James by the arm)  Now, James keep this to yourself ............ you know we've got to stick together on this!  Okay?

JAMES:  Okay!

The scene cuts over to the John Who tribe where Sherea, who is busy laying in the shelter is saying something to the effect that it is sure nice and quiet around here now that Dave is gone.   PG is tending to the fire and Sherea, looking directly at Frosti who is stirring a pot on the fire says, "Frosti ....... I'm hungry .... how about bringing over some food.  I have to keep my strength up for the challenges ..... don't ya know!"  Meanwhile, love birds Erik and Jaime are off secretly making out in the Garden of Eden jungle under a secluded palm tree.

The next shot fades to the Fei Long camp where Todd and James find the hidden immunity idol.  James takes down the plaque and reads the message on the reverse side.  It says, "Now don't get suicidal, with the clues at hand ...... by GOD! ......... you've found the idol ...... you now must make a plan."   Okay, that's not really what it said ..... but hey, .... at least it rhymes.

The day passes slowly, when the sun rises bringing the next day (day 14) a fishing boat carrying Jeff Probst arrives at the Fei Long camp.

TODD: (Looking out towards the approaching boat)  Someone's coming in ...
AMANDA:  Something's going on!

Ah yes, my dear Watson, something is indeed a-foot!.  This unexpected visit tells us that a game twist is about to occur.  Now the scenes switch between the two tribal campsites.

TODD: (reading the message ) "Choose two warriors from Zhan Hu ...  Blah ... blah ... blah!"
SHEREA: (reading the message) "Choose two warriors from Fei Long ..."

As I mentioned in my last article, thanks to spoiler intel from DanieuBleau,  Aaron and James of the red dragon Fei Long tribe are swapped for yellow tigers Frosti and Sherea.  Yet, as fictionalized above, before the player swap occurs, we know that Todd has filled in James on the hidden immunity idol clues and both he and James find the hidden idol.  Some suggest that James, as the guardian of the idol, possibly brings that icon with him when he is switched to the enemy tribe.  Possibly, the idol is security in case of a possible immunity challenge loss by the new John Who tribe.  Because surely, strong man James would then be targeted for elimination.

It's the morning of filming day 15 at the Zhelin Lake reservoir and The 'Plunge, Pull & Pop-Up' immunity challenge which was previously revealed to us by both challenge producer John Kirhoffer and via a TV Guide article by Shawna Malcom now ensues.

According to Kirhoffer and Malcom, "The challenge had two distinct parts.  In the first, two members from each tribe start out on a raised platform in the water where, on the word 'go' they must alternately dive down as far as 15 feet to pull out a series of bamboo poles that each release a puzzle piece."  And according to Kirhoffer, "the visibility [in the water] wasn't all that great."

The article continues, "Once all 12 puzzle pieces have 'popped' to the surface, the survivors gather them in a boat and race to shore, where the rest of their respective tribes take over the decipher a complex puzzle."

We expect that new 'John Who' tribal castaway's Erik and Aaron release the 12 puzzle pieces and bring them to shore, meanwhile Jaime, PG and James are responsible for solving the puzzle.  The new 'Fei Long' tribe probably recruits J-Robert and Frosti to gather the puzzle pieces and Denise, Todd and Sherea's task is to solve the puzzle.

What happens at the immunity challenge event?   Well, according to our super sleuth Dani, ".... The original Zhan Hu's [who are still on the new Zhan Hu tribe] throw it. The plan is to have the numbers after the merge, with Frosti, and Sherea hooking back up with them.  However, it [the planned future hook-up with Frosti and Sherea] doesn't quite work out that way."

How does the plan to throw the immunity challenge pan out?  Well, internet intel from, Dani tells us that Jaime brazenly, "... ditches one of the puzzle pieces, throwing it to the ground."  Thus, new Fei Long wins the challenge and new John Who must go to tribal council that night.

At tribal council, the original yellow tigers have a choice between newcomers James and Aaron and we already know whom takes the fall.  One castaway is blindsided by what occurs.

Aaron Reisberger

Jeff Probst said about him, "Aaron told us when we first met him, 'When I bartend, I can read people so fast that I know what to say to them and how to treat them to get the maximum tip.'  I thought that if he's telling the truth he's going to do very well because that is at the essence of Survivor, reading people and knowing what makes them tick and how to get to them."

Well, Apparently the educated, (He's an Ohio State University graduate with a BS in Hospitality Management) 32 year old surfing instructor and Mediterranean wine bistro manager living in Venice California really messed up in his reading of the clever schemer Todd Herzog or he would have earlier figured out that there was something rotten in Denmark.

Episode 4:   "Ride the Workhorse 'Til the Tail Falls Off!"

"Dictator"

By Ron Wilkes

Frostbite Falls, MN    10.11.MMVII

Secret survivor intelligence tells us that a two for two player swap is to occur in the next episode ...... that is .... in episode five.  We hear Aaron and James of Fei Long are swapped for Frosti and Sherea of Zhan Hu.

Moreover, this is what we have learned from DanieuBleau at SurvivorSkills who is talking about James:  "Anyway, while we can't exactly pin-point the exact Episode he [James] finds the HII [Hidden Immunity Idol] ..... at this time, we can say with confidence that it's early, and possibly before new tribe members are brought into FL [the Fei Long tribe]."

She later continued, "It will be exciting finding out no doubt, but just adding here as well, that last night we received a tip that at some point, Todd fills James in on the HII clues."

Now I say, let's look at TODD'S situation at the beginning of Episode-4.  One of his alliance group [Leslie] has just been voted out.  Although, I believe that he would have rather gotten rid of J.Robert, I believe that Todd just couldn't persuade enough of the other tribe mates and thus didn't have the necessary votes.  What does Todd do?  Well, Todd needs to replace Leslie to keep his alliance group numbers high.

So, who is currently in Todd's secret alliance?  I suggest that it's Todd, Amanda, Aaron (he is Todd's fall guy) and Courtney (she's a weak fall girl but he needs her vote).  So now, who does Todd bring into his group?  Ahh huh ..... he picks strong man James .... to replace Leslie!

Suppose Fei Long WINS both challenges. Then, according to just discovered 'YahooTV' promo video evidence posted on the TrueDorkTimes web site ... they kidnap Dave.  Dave gives the CLUE to James .... who in turn tells TODD.  Later, they both find the hidden immunity idol and .... TODD, in order to show his TRUST for James, .... allows James to hold it for Safe-Keeping.  Of course, Todd does not know about the player SWAP which is to occur in the next episode and therefore, Todd will need to scramble when he loses two of his alliance mates to the other tribe.  Well, that's another story arc.  Anyway on to this episode.

We know about the challenges and I predict that the [Fei Long] red dragons win both challenges.  The Reward Challenge occurs at the tribal council site at night.  It is entitled ........ "Great Balls of Fire" ......... and involves pairs of tribal castaways picking up fireballs with chopsticks and putting them in a trough. The fire ball rolls down the trough, falls into a wok full of flash powder.  The flash powder in the final wok sets off a fuse which then sets off fireworks.  As I previously suggested, Dave is kidnapped from the losing Zhan Hu (John Who) tribe and he delivers the third idol clue to James.

Oh ....... I almost forgot to tell you about the reward.  Well, apparently Mark Burnett feels the tribe does not properly know how to fish and so he sends some local Chinese fishermen to their camp.  The village fishermen show the castaways on how to fish like a cormorant bird fishes.  Was that really necessary?  I wonder, isn't that like telling a gopher how to dig in soft dirt?

In the Immunity Challenge entitled, "Warriors Dual" the Gladiators enter an arena via a bamboo thatched gauntlet.  Wearing body armor they will square off for immunity.  The details of the task are unknown, yet ....... I predict another win by the red dragons.

What ancient weapons will be used by the Chinese warriors who are wearing body armor and helmets?  A Dao (saber), a Qiang (spear), a Jian (sword), a Ji (halberd ... that is a curved blade and metal tip mounted on a long shaft), a Shu (metal-headed club), or a Pi (double-bladed spear)?  Nope ......... from what I can see, it's none of the above.  The warriors are using a Boleadora or a Bola which is a throwing device with dual weighted metal balls connected by a rope .... cord ..... or chain.  Da Dah!  What happens to the warriors?  Well ........ like the Possum Lodge Motto from the Red Green Show says: .......... "Quando Omni Flunkus Moritati"  ..... When all else fails, play dead!

Okay ...... Okay! ..... Now, quickly ..... on to the predictions!   The yellow tiger 'John Who' tribe goes to tribal council and Crazy Dave gets voted out of the game.   He was supposed to go in the last episode.  Why?  Because he was acting like a dictator and as we all know, virtually nobody likes a DICTATOR!  Oh well!

Episode 3:   "I Lost Two hands and Possibly a Shoulder!"

"And the King has Lost his Head!"

By Ron Wilkes

Frostbite Falls, MN    10.04.MMVII

CBS Teasers:

The kidnapped castaway bonds with the kidnappers over issues of faith, and the floodgates open as that castaway reveals their own tribe's dynamics.

The secrets is out and the kidnapee (is that a word ?) is Christian talk radio show host Leslie Nease who both bonds with Zhan Hu tribe members and spills her guts about her fellow Fei Long tribemates.

*  The women on one tribe have a hard time getting shut-eye as they avoid the snuggling and smothering of a cuddly castaway.

" I need to be warm," says J. Robert in a CBS promo.  Well, apparently J.Robert gets his warmth by snuggling up with the tribal women.  Moreover, his actions keep them up at night.

*  As two guys joke in private that the only reason to keep a weak female tribemate is because one has a crush on her, that woman spies on their crude conversation.

Two predictions on this teaser are that the female in question is Courtney (of the Fei Long tribe) and the guys are Jean-Robert and Aaron .... or maybe .... the blonde female in question is Jaime (of the Zhan Hu tribe) and the two guys privately talking are Dave and Erik.

*  To stew or roast a crab?  That is the question that prompts to alpha-males to duke it out.

My guess here is that the alpha-males are Dave and either Erik or Frosti .............. and of course crazy Dave most likely gets his way.

Okay, on to more predictions regarding the reward challenge, the kidnapping, the immunity challenge and the boot.

Spoiler intel concerning this episode's "Clear the Deck" reward challenge was just recently revealed when Galewinds posted a spoiler intel report by CariC on the SurvivorSkills web site.  It stated,  "My sources say Zhan Hu will finally win and they will kidnap Leslie.   For winning, they win some comfort items like pillows, blankets, and a tarp."

Later, DanieuBleu at S.Skills seemed to confirm the information when she agreed that they had found a new intel source and Dani added,  "Yeah, poor Leslie, she gets pretty sick in this episode."

Well, there you have it!  The red dragon Fei Long tribe loses the reward challenge and tribemate Leslie is kidnapped by the winning tiger Zhan Hu tribe.  Later, at the immunity challenge entitled "Blade Runner," we expect a Fei Long win.  The challenge involves a samurai type sword that is used to hack at objects to possibly gather a set of wooden Chinese coins which are used to solve a puzzle    Anyway, that makes three consecutive immunity challenge wins for the Fei Long dragons.   And it is to almost no ones surprise as to who gets eliminated at that evenings tribal council event.

To succeed in this game of survivor, your tribal organizational structure needs to be more like a democracy and less like a dictatorship.  Yet, Dave has become a DICTATOR!   He has shown himself to be a CONTROL FREAK.  Yes, all that self appointed power has gone to his head ...... and he will soon lose that all important appendage.

From China Insider we learn more about this matter in Ashley's (the recently booted John 'Whose' castaway's) final words, when she said, "...........but I've said it in interviews, time and time again, that Dave is going to show them the reason he shouldn't be in control, and I guarantee you that I see him on the flip side sooner than he imagines."

Yes, word on the street is that 37 year old, bartender, model/actor Dave Cruser from Simi Valley, California .... was flipped out of the game ..... err, the self avowed motivator and team player took the long walk of shame ...... and now has ended up on losers lane.

This spoilerish boot information had previously been revealed late in September with Dave listed as boot number three on Dani's (DanieuBleu of SurvivorSkills) revised boot order list.

javascript:;

Dave Michael Cruser

What can I say!  Dave's overly autocratic leadership style has made him an outsider in his own tribe.  He lost his common sense, lost the confidence of his tribemates in their island kingdom and when it came time to vote ......Ooops! .......  the king lost his head.

Prediction Summary:

EP-3, RC Winners:    Zhan Hu Tribe

EP-3, Kidnapped:      Leslie Nease

EP-3, IC Winners:    Fei Long Tribe

EP-3, Boot:        Dave Cruser is the third castaway to be executed in the game.

Survivor CHINA, Zhelin Lake - Episode 2:  "My Mom is Going to Kill Me"

"The Girl Next Door"

by Ron Wilkes

Frostbite Falls, MN  02.26.MMVII

In the last episode we found that as a contestant, you need to come into the game with a plan ...... some type of a plan .......... any kind of a plan.  You need to be helpful to the tribe, to get along and to BELONG!  Unfortunately, Chicken didn't have a plan or game strategy and that resulted in his downfall.

Moreover, any annoying or perceived negative attitude towards your tribe mates can make you an easy target for elimination in this game.

We also know that it is not a good idea to get ill when you just arrive at your tribal campsite.  An ill Jessie Camacho in Survivor Africa presented a weakness to the tribe and she was given a mercy boot.  Sixty three (63) year old fire Captain Jim Lynch was shown puking his guts out in the first episode of Survivor Guatemala and we all know what happened to him.  And now we see that 28 year old model, pro wrestler, New York native Ashley Massaro was
