The Location

Survivor: The Amazon was filmed near the Rio Negro, a tributary located in the heart of the Amazon jungle  The series used the privately owned nature reserve of Floresta da Vida and the facilities of the Ariau Amazon Towers.

Terrain:  The Amazon is home to the world's largest lowland tropical Rainforest. The canopy shelters the Earth's richest and most diverse ecosystem.

Fauna: The area is teeming with jaguars, crocodiles and anaconda and flesh-eating piranhas.

The two original tribes of Survivor: The Amazon were Tambaqui and Jaburu . Eventually the two were merged into the Jacaré tribe.

Survivor Best Friends Pose In Playboy  
Jenna and Heidi each got paid about $1 million, but will not officially disclose the amount.  Both women appeared on the CBS "Early Show" Monday and said part of the reason they wanted to do the pictorial is that they are best friends. Video
